Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Mohammad Ali! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Romao Silva! The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Sam Margolis and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ali shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Ali could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Ali fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Ali tries to close the distance and clinch but Silva swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Ali walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Silva checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Ali throws a head kick but Silva moves out of range.
Silva throws a half hearted mid kick. Mohammad Ali seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Silva fails in his attempt to clinch. Silva tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Ali counters with a takedown into side control. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Silva is trying to improve his position. Silva is trying to control Ali's posture but Ali avoids it. Silva tries to bench press Ali off him but Ali keeps the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ali stands up. Ali lands with a kick to the ribs.
Ali fails with the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mohammad Ali. That's going to take a lot out of him. Silva is looking to clinch but Ali is avoiding it.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Osbert stuns Cornwell with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Cornwell shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Osbert is trying to defend but Cornwell finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Cornwell not landing any meaningful shots this time. Osbert is looking for a sweep. Cornwell is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Cornwell wants to lay and pray for a moment but Osbert keeps working. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Cornwell, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
