24 - 15 - 1, fighting out of New York, Lawrence Mars! The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Columbo Gatti and Dean Styles.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Moneybags slaps away a takedown attempt from Mars, before circling back to the center of the mat. Moneybags defending well as Mars loads up on a big left hand. Mars shoots in but Moneybags avoids the takedown attempt easily. Moneybags wants to clinch up but Mars keeps it at a distance. Moneybags tries to close the distance and clinch but Mars swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Moneybags drives through and clinches with Mars against the cage.
Moneybags lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage. Moneybags throws a head punch that misses. A head punch blocked on the inside by Mars. Moneybags breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Moneybags throws a lazy right hand but Mars sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Good shot there by Moneybags. Moneybags keeps the fight on the outside.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mars shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Moneybags as he jumps to the side. John Moneybags has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lawrence Mars. Moneybags throws a quick inside leg kick. Mars shoots in looking for a takedown but Moneybags manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Mars's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Moneybags misses with a hook. Moneybags manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Moneybags lands a front kick. Moneybags cracks Mars with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Moneybags moves in looking to clinch but Mars pushes him off. Mars uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Moneybags. Mars throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Mars fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Moneybags lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Moneybags moves into the clinch. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Moneybags misses with an elbow strike.
I was talking to Moneybags's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Moneybags breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. John Moneybags is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Mars keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
A lazy left from Mars finds it's target. Moneybags tries to clinch up. Moneybags throws out a loose jab but Mars uses good head movement to avoid it. Moneybags throws a good cross that connects.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Mars closes the distance but Moneybags moves to the side and Moneybags counters with a nice leg kick. A jab from Moneybags misses. Mars shoots in and drives through. Moneybags sprawls well. Moneybags throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. A shot to the liver by Moneybags. Beautiful body shot. Moneybags clinches. Mars turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Moneybags struggling a bit here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Moneybags tries to improve position but can't. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Mars is chipping away with strikes.
Mars misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Moneybags takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Mars throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Moneybags works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure. Moneybags feints and then cracks Mars's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Mars down. Moneybags misses with an uppercut. Moneybags plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Mars tries to score a power double leg takedown but Moneybags sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Mars somewhat. Mars shoots in but no luck this time. John Moneybags is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Nice defenses there by Mars. And that's the end of the fight! John Moneybags showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Moneybags, winning every round. Will the judges agree? Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:22 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Duke On Roids! Duke On Roids really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Ultra Fight Gear(Launder 85%) logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty. Al Capone spoke after the fight, saying 'Fuck Fuck Fuck!!!!'.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pietravallo darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Pietravallo is looking to take a break and control but Griffin is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Pietravallo is looking to advance position but Griffin won't allow it. Pietravallo throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Griffin tries to roll over but Pietravallo keeps him under control. Griffin is looking to escape. Pietravallo thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Griffin is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Pietravallo scores with a couple of nice shots. Pietravallo perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Pietravallo is trying to control the action in half guard but Griffin is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Pietravallo not doing much here.
Pietravallo stalling away here and it's allowed Griffin to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pietravallo is pushing down on Griffin's leg trying to pass to half guard. Griffin is fighting to maintain full guard but Pietravallo has managed to sneak the leg through. Griffin tries to roll over but Pietravallo keeps him under control. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Pietravallo working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though. Pietravallo stalling. Pietravallo wants to take a breather but Griffin is having none of it. Griffin avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Pietravallo. Griffin trying to control but Pietravallo postures up.
Griffin is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Pietravallo is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Forrest Griffin has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Griffin misses with a double jab.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Griffin drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Griffin drops his hands momentarily and Pietravallo takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Jab, jab by Pietravallo - just one landing. A momentary lapse in concentration from Griffin enables Pietravallo to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Griffin manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Pietravallo working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Pietravallo scoring with punches to the head and body. Pietravallo pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Griffin is keeping the position for now. Pietravallo postures up in Griffin's guard and throws a big left but Griffin blocks it. Griffin is trying to keep Pietravallo in close.
Pietravallo has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Pietravallo trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Pietravallo looking to sit in guard and control but Griffin gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Pietravallo is on top in guard.

Griffin is keeping the position for now. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Pietravallo throwing strikes from guard but Griffin blocks nicely. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lapikov wants to clinch. Lapikov throws a series of punches but Kasumi avoids them all with ease. Kasumi cracks the inside of Lapikov's front leg. Kasumi jabs at Lapikov's body. Lapikov throws a shot from downtown. Kasumi moves away and avoids it. Lapikov rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Kasumi moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Lapikov throws a right and a left that both miss. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Kasumi has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Kasumi scoring well with a low kick there.
