The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cota drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Cota seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
It looks like Cota might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Cota wants to pass the guard but Miyaichi is keeping the position.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Mark Cota hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Fabiano feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Chan is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at CCF's Flying Circus, so we'll see if he gets out of it.

Chan is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Macfannywinkle lets go of the hold and Chan can pop his arm back in it's socket.
