The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Awsome changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Awsome connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
It looks like Danny Mcdonald has been cut. Awsome slaps away a takedown attempt from Mcdonald, before circling back to the center of the mat. Mcdonald changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Awsome tries to avoid it but Mcdonald manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Awsome to the ground. Awsome escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Mcdonald feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Awsome avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Mcdonald has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Awsome pushes Mcdonald off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Awsome digs a good body shot into Mcdonald's ribs. Mcdonald closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Yaj moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Seed pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Yaj tries to clinch there but Seed circles away.
Seed looks to throw the jab but Yaj is out of range. Yaj throws a low kick, looking for Seed's leg but Seed calmly moves out of range. Seed closes the distance and clinches. Seed trying to stall but Yaj improves his position.
I was talking to Seed's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Seed tries to break the clinch but Yaj is controlling the position. Seed tries to work over Yaj's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Seed tries to stall but Yaj uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Yaj tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Seed wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Yaj has him pressed against the cage. Yaj is looking to break free of the clinch but Seed has double underhooks. Yaj has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Seed uses from the top position. Seed throws a big elbow that misses. Yaj is trying to control the position but Seed postures up. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Yaj can do anything to dispel that myth. That's better than Seed was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Yaj is pushing Seed's head away, looking to escape. Seed manages to hold on to the position though. Yaj wants to control but Seed postures up. Yaj is looking to regain half guard here but Seed keeps moving and retains side control. The ground and pound from Seed seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Seed connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Yaj some visible discomfort.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A jab from Gun misses. Lee with a lazy takedown attempt and Gun counters with a lovely straight right hand! Gun defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Lee. Gun cracks a nice hook into Lee's ribs. Gun throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Lee doesn't succeed with the takedown and Gun counters with a straight right hand. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ming Lee. That's going to take a lot out of him. Lee shoots in but Gun avoids the takedown attempt easily. Ming Lee seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Lee shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Gun pinned against the cage. Gun gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Lee shoots in but no luck this time. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Gun works Lee's body with a nice hook. Gun throws the left hand but Lee avoids the punch easily. Gun missing with a left hand there. Lee was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gun's corner calls for a 1-2. Gun obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Lee will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Lee looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Lee has his takedown stuffed and Gun counters with a nice right hand that sends Lee toppling to the canvas! Lee scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Gun finish him?!
Lee is rocked! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Lee switches off momentarily and Gun cracks him with a monster right hand! Lee topples backwards and makes a semi conscious attempt to cover up, as Gun dives in to land one more shot, before the referee has time to call the fight. What a finish by Gun!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Freeman ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Greenberg takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Greenberg throws a lazy right hand but Freeman sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Freeman steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Greenberg. Freeman slips under a jab from Greenberg. Freeman tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Greenberg swivels and escapes. Freeman lands a nice looking body shot.
Greenberg stuffs the takedown. Freeman slips a jab from Greenberg. Freeman throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Greenberg tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Freeman is in Greenberg's guard. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Greenberg can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Freeman controls the pace. Let's hope that Freeman has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
