The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Beaner shoots in looking for a takedown. Nash tries to sprawl out of it but Beaner keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Nash manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Nash throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Nash throws a head kick but Beaner moves out of range.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson Jr darts in looking for a takedown but Sefter gets double underhooks and turns Johnson Jr into the cage. A nice glancing elbow lands by Sefter. Sefter drags the fight down to the ground.
Johnson Jr passes into half guard. Johnson Jr postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Sefter to stand up. Johnson Jr darts in trying to clinch and Sefter moves into the clinch. The referee is keeping an eye on Sefter - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Lawnmoer working away. Lawnmoer sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Mamed is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Lawnmoer is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Mamed knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Lawnmoer wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mamed keeps working.

Nikolaev's coach down at St Petersburg MMA Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Nikolaev's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
