Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sakari Nurmi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryuu Tatsuya (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nurmi kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Turisas -Take the day!. Tatsuya comes into a darkened arena with his song building. DBZ kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

17 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Ryuu Tatsuya! The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Saam Ante and Nard Betker.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A jab from Tatsuya misses. Tatsuya throws a leg kick
and Nurmi counters with a nice double leg into guard. Tatsuya controls Nurmi momentarily but Nurmi frees himself. Nurmi works over Tatsuya with some ground and pound from guard. Tatsuya is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Nurmi loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Tatsuya looking to hit a scissor sweep but Nurmi is one step ahead there. Nurmi working some strikes from top position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Nurmi's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Nurmi has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Nurmi wants to control from the top but Tatsuya keeps moving. Nurmi wants to pass the guard but Tatsuya is keeping the position.

Nurmi takes one on the button. Tatsuya lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Tatsuya has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Nurmi is landing a low percentage of strikes. Tatsuya throws a series of punches but Nurmi moves out of range.

Nurmi is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Tatsuya tries to throw a body punch but Nurmi avoids it by throwing Tatsuya back against the cage. Nurmi has a couple of punches blocked by Tatsuya.

Tatsuya tries to work over Nurmi's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Tatsuya misses with a knee strike.

 That's three minutes gone in the round. Nurmi lands a hook that snaps the head of Tatsuya backwards. Nurmi is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sakari Nurmi. That's going to take a lot out of him. Tatsuya using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.
Tatsuya scores with a hook to the body. Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Tatsuya. Tatsuya continues to stall. The referee tells him to work or he's going to break them up. Tatsuya looks to throw an elbow but misses. Tatsuya will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Nurmi up against the cage. Tatsuya avoids the elbow strike from Nurmi, against the cage.

Nurmi prevents a body shot from Tatsuya. Tatsuya lands an elbow that stopped Nurmi in his tracks for a moment. A hook to the body from Nurmi.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Nurmi blocks an elbow strike. Nurmi tries to land knees in the clinch but Tatsuya avoids the damage to the body. Tatsuya taking a breather. Tatsuya lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
 It looks like Sakari Nurmi has been cut. Tatsuya is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Nurmi is keeping busy. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Tatsuya tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Nurmi avoids it. Nurmi is trying to stall.
Tatsuya lands a hook to the side of the head. Nurmi lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage. Knees to the body from Tatsuya.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Tatsuya on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

A close round but Ryuu Tatsuya will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Sakari Nurmi's cut. That's time! Back to the action!
Tatsuya is looking to chop away at Nurmi's legs. Some wild striking there from Tatsuya.
Tatsuya lands with an overhand left. Nurmi takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Tatsuya clinches up with Nurmi and pushes him back against the cage. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Tatsuya blocks an elbow strike. Nurmi can't get the takedown.
Tatsuya is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Nurmi is defending well for now. Tatsuya tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Tatsuya misses with a punch on the inside.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Tatsuya just misses with a elbow thrown towards Nurmi's brow. Ryuu Tatsuya seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far. Nurmi struggles to land a body shot inside as Tatsuya controls his hands.

Tatsuya throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. A swing and a miss from Tatsuya. A telegraphed right hand from Tatsuya misses the target. Nurmi tries to clinch and Tatsuya counters with a slapping leg kick. Some wild striking there from Tatsuya.
Tatsuya throws an overhand right that lands on Nurmi's shoulder, as Nurmi tries to avoid the shot. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! A looping hook to the body misses from Tatsuya. Nurmi does a little dance to reset his feet. Tatsuya misses with a series of wild punches.

 That's three minutes gone in the round. Nurmi shoots in for a double leg but Tatsuya sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Tatsuya pivots, looking for a leg kick but Nurmi is out of range and Tatsuya settles back down. Tatsuya lands a glancing blow to the side of Nurmi's head. Tatsuya thows a left - swing and a miss! Tatsuya has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Nurmi. Tatsuya misses with a lunging right hand
and Nurmi makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Tatsuya throws a right hand that misses
and Nurmi counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Tatsuya's guard now. Nurmi is stalling in the full guard. Nurmi's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. This has been an exciting period of action! Nurmi throws a strike but Tatsuya rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Nurmi manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Tatsuya is squirming around, avoiding Nurmi's attempts to control the action. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Tatsuya squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Nurmi raining down shots from the mount! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Ryuu Tatsuya will probably get the nod - 10:9. The cut man is working on Sakari Nurmi's cut. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!

Nurmi feints and as Tatsuya raises his hands in defense, Nurmi changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Nurmi postures up.

Tatsuya has his feet on Nurmi's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Nurmi slips a straight right by Tatsuya. Tatsuya throws a body kick that misses. Tatsuya throws a combination that misses and Nurmi counters with a nice low kick that buckles Tatsuya's knee momentarily. Tatsuya throws a sloppy head kick and Nurmi counters with a head kick. That will keep Tatsuya thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! A nice combination there by Tatsuya.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Tatsuya looks to land a left hand but Nurmi moved out of range nicely. Tatsuya rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Nurmi counters with a nice double leg into guard. Tatsuya utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Nurmi prevents Tatsuya from getting back to his feet. We've been hearing that Nurmi has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Tatsuya not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Tatsuya might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Nurmi haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Nurmi in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Nurmi passes Tatsuya's left leg - he's now in half guard. Nurmi throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Tatsuya has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Nurmi is working away from the top position though. Nurmi prevents Tatsuya from standing back up.

Tatsuya tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Nurmi wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Nurmi tries to score with some ground and pound. Tatsuya controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Nurmi works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Nurmi working the ground and pound.
Tatsuya explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there! Tatsuya fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Tatsuya moves to clinch but Nurmi breaks away
and Nurmi counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Tatsuya! Tatsuya takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Tatsuya is trying to get back to half guard.
Nurmi working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Tatsuya is trying to improve his position. Tatsuya is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Nurmi creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Tatsuya is looking to regain half guard here but Nurmi keeps moving and retains side control. Tatsuya prevents Nurmi from improving position. Tatsuya managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Nurmi.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Nurmi cracks Tatsuya with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Nurmi tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Nurmi has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Tatsuya wants to get back to his feet but Nurmi drags him back down. Tatsuya is trying to get back to half guard. Tatsuya is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Sakari Nurmi has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Ryuu Tatsuya is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Tatsuya is looking to reverse the position. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! An elbow from Nurmi crashes against the mat.

Sakari Nurmi overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Nurmi thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

And that's the end of the fight! Sakari Nurmi showed his dominance in that final round. I think Tatsuya has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Valentine jabs at Gutzeit's body.
Gutzeit shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Valentine's guard.
Gutzeit is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Valentine is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Valentine has escaped and now he's on top! Gutzeit wants to stand and escape but Valentine is having none of it. Valentine wants to get up but he can't break Gutzeit's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Valentine postures up.
Valentine stands up and waves to Gutzeit to follow him. Gutzeit lands the left hand. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Gutzeit takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Sloppy strikes from Gutzeit. Those never looked like landing. Valentine misses with a leg kick. Good leg kick by Valentine there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Valentine lands a jab to the head.
Valentine tries to close the distance and clinch up but Gutzeit swats him away and circles back towards the center.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Gutzeit cracks Valentine with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Gutzeit keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Valentine. Valentine walks into a jab. Gutzeit throws a hook but Valentine avoids it easily. Valentine feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Gutzeit's calf. Gutzeit smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Valentine misses with a head kick.
Gutzeit closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Valentine to the mat! Valentine manages to get full guard. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Gutzeit working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

Valentine has momentary wrist control but Gutzeit slips an elbow through the middle. Gutzeit is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
 The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Tomek Gutzeit wasn't active enough on the ground.

13 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Shaun Russell! The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Albert Achterberg and Wagner Zegers.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Russell throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Russell throws a looping overhand right but Costa ducks down to avoid it. Costa uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Russell.
Costa has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Russian Top Team (elite gym) in the buildup to the fight. Costa has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Russell finds it's way round the side to connect with Costa's head. Costa tries to bum rush Russell with a series of wild strikes but Russell uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Costa cracks Russell with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Russell bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Russell throws a poor cross that misses
and Costa counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Russell! This has been an exciting period of action! It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Costa cracks Russell with an elbow. That is naaassty. Costa fails to land a wild elbow strike.
The strikes coming from Costa are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Costa throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Russell is looking for a sweep.

Costa is trying to get an arm triangle but Russell is defending well. Russell tries to buck Costa off but Costa is having none of it. Costa tries to score with some ground and pound. Russell controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Russell throws a hook but Costa avoids it easily. Costa looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Russell lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Russell.
 It looks like Quentin Costa has been cut. Russell pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Russell throws a nice inside leg kick. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Costa is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
 Costa is rocked! Costa is aggressively charging in as Russell backs up avoiding any damage. Russell tosses out a jab and Costa runs right into it face first! Costa is out cold! Russell dropped down on all fours and is barking in Costa's face like a pit bull in celebration until the ref was finally able to pull him away!

Kolmiokuristus thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Kolmiokuristus lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Kolmiokuristus sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
And that's the end of the fight! Mason Capwell showed his dominance in that final round. Well Capwell has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
