Thornton throws a head kick that Mazzuca semi-blocks.

Mazzuca is rocked!
Thornton seems to be stalking Mazzuca here. He circles momentarily and then unleashes a devastatic head kick! Mazzuca drops like a stone, out cold! WOW! Are you kidding me!? What a knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Terrence Thornton!
Terrence Thornton decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
Roman Mazzuca was interviewed post fight and said '... I love you mom... please don't do this to me, not that guy! You can do much better, he's just an asshole! ... Sorry for the loss, what a shame...'.
