Hewitt blocks a jab.

and Singer counters with a three punch combo that has Hewitt backing up. Hewitt nods at Singer to acknowledge the strikes.
Hewitt shoots in looking for a takedown but Singer manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Hewitt's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Tony Singer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Singer misses with a few strikes there.
Hewitt has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Jamison, as that shot connected.
Yang Xinhai seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jamison fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Xinhai is out of range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
