1 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Yuki Takano! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ben Marshall! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Dillan Fox and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Takano fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Marshall manages to avoid it. Marshall takes a shot right to the bread basket. Marshall forces Takano back against the cage and clinches. Marshall keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Takano's efforts to push away. Marshall is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Takano avoiding damage.
Takano scores with an uppercut up the middle.
It looks like Ben Marshall has been cut. A frustrated look appears on Takano's face as he tries to break the clinch. Nice body punch from Takano - that landed with a thud.
Takano lands a left hand.
Marshall tightens his grip and picks Takano up, before dumping him to the ground. Takano manages to land in guard. Marshall throws a strike but Takano rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
That's one minute gone in the round. Takano stays in close to Marshall's body and controls the position. Marshall throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

Takano got a little sloppy there for a moment and Marshall has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Takano has managed to get both his arms back between Marshall's legs - danger averted.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Takano controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Yuki Takano. A left lands for Takano.
Marshall is rocked! Takano connects with a single shot there. Marshall is still on wobbly legs! Can Takano finish him? Jab by Takano. Marshall uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Takano. Takano fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Takano lands a brutal uppercut that launches Marshall off his feet! Marshall tumbles to the floor, barely conscious - the referee jumps in to save him from a beating! Wow, what an ending!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Yuki Takano! Yuki Takano very nearly forgot to thank Elite Canadian Threads amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Elliott Stanley! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Elvis Blanc and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Davidov looks for a takedown but Stanley sprawls well. Davidov shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Stanley counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters. Stanley lands a jab to the head.
Stanley will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Diego Davidov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Davidov fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Diego Davidov. That's going to take a lot out of him. Davidov tries to score a power double leg takedown but Stanley sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Davidov somewhat. Stanley moves into the clinch. Stanley has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Davidov clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Davidov is trapped and Stanley is scoring with shots to the head and body. Stanley is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Davidov is working hard here to advance position. Stanley looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stanley is working the ground and pound here and the referee is taking a close look at Davidov. He must escape soon or this one will be stopped. Stanley has Davidov flattened out and is raining down punches.
Davidov is rocked! Davidov rolls, trying to escape but Stanley keeps control of the position.
Stanley is throwing punches to the body, looking to soften Davidov up.
Oh Davidov is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Stanley throwing damaging strikes from the back! Davidov could be in trouble here!
Stanley scoring with big shots to the body. Davidov is looking for a way out. A despairing look towards the ref and the official steps in to stop the fight. Davidov was obviously done but didn't want to tap out.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Huone missing with a left hand there. Johnson was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Huone connects with a crisp jab. Johnson slips under a jab. Huone fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Johnson scores with a body shot.
Huone looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Huone lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Huone. Johnson misses with a low kick as Huone jumps back. Huone fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Johnson manages to avoid it. A shot to the body from Huone misses and Johnson counters by clinching up. Huone stalling against the cage.

Huone is defending well against a takedown attempt. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Huone is pressed up against the cage. Johnson has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Huone down to the mat. Huone avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Kaivo Huone has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Randall Johnson. Johnson gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Johnson takes a swing at Huone's ribcage but misses. Huone throws a jab when Johnson was well out of range. Huone connects with a body shot. Huone punishes Johnson's body with a nice straight punch. Johnson throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

and Huone counters with a left to the body. Johnson drops his hands momentarily and Huone takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Johnson's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Huone connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Johnson scrambles back to his feet.

Huone cracks Johnson with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Johnson is still on wobbly legs! Can Huone finish him? Huone gets a clinch. Huone lands with a left to the head. A right hook to the body lands for Huone.
Johnson has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Huone is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Huone lands with a right to the head. Huone pushes Johnson against the cage. Huone is working some dirty boxing. Huone pushes off with a quick right hook! Johnson goes down! Johnson tries to stand but stumbles back to his kness! Huone moves in to finish and the ref steps in to prevent any more damage!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Clayton thows a body shot but no joy. Al Haddad moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Al Haddad on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Clayton does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Clayton takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Al Haddad lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Clayton backs up against the cage.
Clayton misses the shot to the body. Al Haddad rushes Clayton and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Al Haddad using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Clayton has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Al Haddad tries to work over Clayton's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Al Haddad misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Al Haddad's coach down at Midnight MMA was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Al Haddad's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Al Haddad taking a breather. Al Haddad lands a hook that snaps the head of Clayton backwards. A right hook to the body lands for Al Haddad.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Al Haddad stalling.

Al Haddad swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A right-left combo lands from Al Haddad. Sloppy strikes from Al Haddad. Those never looked like landing. Clayton bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Al Haddad taking a bit of punishment here - Clayton scoring with strikes. Al Haddad looks to move to half guard but instead Clayton has passed into mount! Damn! Al Haddad really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Clayton. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Al Haddad gets back to half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Clayton wants to lay and pray for a moment but Al Haddad keeps working. Al Haddad has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Clayton is working away from the top position though. Clayton slows the pace down in half guard. Al Haddad tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Clayton prevents Al Haddad from improving his position. Clayton scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Clayton wants to pass the guard but Al Haddad is defending well. Clayton lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Clayton stops Al Haddad from getting back to his feet.
Al Haddad wants to control but Clayton is keeping busy.
Clayton has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Clayton is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Clayton is looking to advance position but Al Haddad won't allow it. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Elias Al Haddad seems to be getting the better of the standup. Clayton avoids the head kick by Al Haddad.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Al Haddad looking to hit a scissor sweep but Clayton is one step ahead there. Al Haddad wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Clayton manages to pass to side control. Clayton is trying to control the action in half guard but Al Haddad is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Clayton looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Charles Clayton has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! The referee warns Al Haddad that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Al Haddad wants to hold on but Clayton pushes him away. Charles Clayton overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Al Haddad is trying to stand up. Elias Al Haddad is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Al Haddad is squirming around, avoiding Clayton's attempts to control the action. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fusuaga throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Anderson. Fusuaga misses with an uppercut. Anderson walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Nice uppercut there from Fusuaga. Fusuaga moves out of range of the body kick. Kuivanen misses with a takedown attempt and Levasseur counters with a nice double leg into guard. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Levasseur throwing strikes from guard but Kuivanen blocks nicely. Levasseur working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Levasseur drops back, looking for a kneebar! Kuivanen looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Kuivanen looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Kuivanen! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shaughnessy ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Spezza moves away. Shaughnessy avoids the head kick by Spezza.
Spezza misses with a low kick. Shaughnessy throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Spezza shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Spezza pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Shaughnessy tries to move into range but Spezza moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Shaughnessy lands with a straight right. Spezza didn't see that one coming. A jab lands there for Shaughnessy. Shaughnessy looks to score with a jab to the body but Spezza is just out of range. Shaughnessy swings for the body but Spezza moves out of range.

That's four minutes gone in the round. This has been an exciting period of action! Shaughnessy connects with a body shot that sends Spezza's belly button to the back. Shaughnessy rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Spezza moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Shaughnessy throws a right hand that Spezza ducks under and follows up with a left that Spezza also avoids with ease. Shaughnessy just misses with a punch to the body.
Spezza misses with an uppercut. Shaughnessy saw that one coming. Shaughnessy takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. A punch combination from Shaughnessy misses. A punch combination from Shaughnessy misses. Spezza pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Nice uppercut there from Spezza. Shaughnessy throws a hook but Spezza avoids it easily. Spezza drops Shaughnessy with a beautiful combination! Shaughnessy stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Spezza is looking for the KO!
Shaughnessy is rocked! Shaughnessy throws a hook to the side of Spezza's head but Spezza sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Oh Shaughnessy is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Spezza misses with an uppercut. Shaughnessy saw that one coming. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! A looping hook to the body misses from Shaughnessy. Spezza does a little dance to reset his feet. A punch lands to the side of Shaughnessy 's head but he takes it in his stride. Shaughnessy swings for the body but Spezza moves out of range.
Spezza moves in close and cracks Shaughnessy with a massive right hand! Shaughnessy, frozen momentarily in time, tumbles to the canvas, already out cold! A brutal knockout by Spezza!
