0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Nick Briggs! The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Saam Ante and Wagner Zegers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ferreira jabbing away but nothing is landing. Briggs fails with a takedown attempt. Ferreira moves into range and connects with a jab. Ferreira lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
It looks like Nick Briggs has been cut. Briggs fails with a takedown attempt. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Briggs. Virgulino Ferreira has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nick Briggs. Ferreira keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! The fight stays on the outside here - Ferreira looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Nice takedown defense from Ferreira. No joy for Briggs on that attempt. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Qfc throws a body kick that misses and Ramirez counters with a head kick. Qfc darts in and clinches Ramirez up against the cage. Ramirez breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Qfc is trying hard to land a takedown here. Ramirez sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Ramirez defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Qfc. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Ramirez.
Qfc with a lazy takedown attempt and Ramirez counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Javier Ramirez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of King Of Qfc. Qfc shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Ramirez counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Qfc thinking. Qfc with a poor takedown and Ramirez counters with a good, hard body kick but Qfc shrugs it off. Qfc looks winded! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Ramirez is really turning it up, unleashing another crisp combination which drops Qfc like a ton of bricks! The referee dives in to stop the fight, saving Qfc from another fist facial!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sampson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Sampson drives through with a takedown into Morgan's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Morgan wants to sweep here but Sampson controlling him for the moment. Morgan is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Sampson defends well. Morgan wants to get back to his feet but Sampson is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Morgan escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Sampson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Sampson drops back looking for a leg! Morgan is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Morgan manages to kick Sampson off! Sampson jumps back into Morgan's guard. Sampson working some strikes from top position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sampson stops Morgan from standing up. Morgan working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Sampson. Sampson throws a big elbow that misses. Morgan is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Sampson throws a big elbow that misses. Morgan has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Sampson has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage. Sampson is looking for a takedown. Sampson has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Morgan regains guard immediately. Morgan thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Morgan will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Morgan is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Morgan is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Dark Horse MMA Academy that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Morgan kicks Sampson off and gets to his feet. Sampson fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Morgan avoids it really well and circles away. Dexter Morgan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sparky Sampson. Sampson gets a double leg takedown into Morgan's guard. Morgan is trying to hold Sampson in close to prevent damage but Sampson has managed to pass into half guard.
Morgan tries to roll over but Sampson keeps him under control. Sampson is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Sampson connects with a nice short shot to Morgan's temple. Morgan wants to get back to full guard. Sampson looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Morgan gets back to full guard.

Sampson told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Sampson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Sampson postures up in Morgan's guard and throws a big left but Morgan blocks it. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Morgan has his feet on Sampson's thighs here. He's pushed Sampson off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Sampson screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Schaeffer wants to clinch but Meloy slips to the side and Meloy counters with a head kick. That will keep Schaeffer thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! Meloy misses with a body shot.
Meloy thuds a left hand into Schaeffer's body. Schaeffer shoots in looking for a takedown. Meloy tries to sprawl out of it but Schaeffer keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Meloy manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Schaeffer checks a leg kick. Meloy stuffs the takedown. Meloy looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Schaeffer takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Meloy misses with an uppercut. Schaeffer saw that one coming. Meloy lunges at Schaeffer with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Schaeffer's hand.

Meloy is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Schaeffer. Schaeffer slips a straight right by Meloy. Meloy would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Schaeffer is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
