Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Parish Thumbkin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Burley Haines! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Frank Dennis and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Thumbkin slips a straight right by Haines. Haines ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Thumbkin moves away. Thumbkin swings for the body but Haines moves out of range.
Thumbkin shoots in and gets a takedown into Haines's guard. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Haines is looking for a triangle but Thumbkin pushes his legs off easily.
Haines wants to sweep here but Thumbkin controlling him for the moment. Thumbkin controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Thumbkin has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Haines preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Haines is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Thumbkin tries to get to full guard but Haines has control of the leg. Thumbkin keeping control of the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Thumbkin is trying to maintain the position but Haines is very close to passing his half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Thumbkin landing a few short strikes. Haines wants to take a breather but Thumbkin is having none of it. Haines passes to side control. Thumbkin is not content to let Haines control the position. Haines has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Thumbkin is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Haines yanks on the arm and Thumbkin is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Haines.

1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jose Rosario! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Gwen Towbar and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rosario changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Williams tries to avoid it but Rosario manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Williams to the ground. Williams escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Rosario scores with a takedown into Williams's guard. Rosario stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Williams swivels though and keeps the full guard. Williams is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Rosario rushes Williams and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Rosario jumps into guard, dragging Williams to the mat.
Williams postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Rosario is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Williams, into his guard.

Rosario steps back and let's Williams get back to his feet. Rosario takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Rosario tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Williams lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Nice sprawl there from Williams as Rosario shoots in. Williams shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Rosario is trying to defend but Williams finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Rosario is looking to escape.

Williams keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Williams wants to control but Rosario is keeping him busy. Williams blocks the strikes from Rosario.

We're going to have a standup here because Brian Williams wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Rosario closes the distance and clinches up with Williams, looking for a takedown. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Rosario can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Williams has his foot on Rosario's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Rosario works his way back into a safe position though. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Williams throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Rosario accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Rosario looking to pass the guard. Williams is trying to control the position but Rosario postures up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Brian Williams will probably get the nod. That's time! Williams's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Shooto misses with a shot to the body and Bill counters with a thumping low kick. Shooto throws a looping overhand right but Bill ducks down to avoid it. Bill takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Bill scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Bill takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Bill closes the distance and clinches. Bill drops Shooto with a big knee straight up the middle! Shooto is covering up against the cage but manages to escape and gets back to his feet! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Bill uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Shooto.

Bill wants to slow Shooto down by chopping away at his legs. Nice defenses there by Bill. Shooto ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Bill moves away. Shooto lands with a good body shot.

Shooto throws a big shot that misses. Shooto scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Tadeya Shooto seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Bill shoots in for a double leg but Shooto sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Bill uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Shooto. Bill keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Shooto. Buffalo Bill is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Shooto takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

and Shooto counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Bill scores with a jab. Shooto misses with a left hand and Bill counters with a nice low kick that buckles Shooto's knee momentarily. Bill takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ethan Harris! The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Daniel Franklin and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kulot fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Harris sprawls well initially but Kulot persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Harris is trying to stand up here but Kulot is controlling him well. Harris is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Kulot scores with a couple of nice shots. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kulot throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Harris wants to get back to his feet.
Kulot maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Harris could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Kulot has cracked it and Harris is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Kulot!
