Harrison closes the distance but Ning moves to the side

and Ning counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Harrison!

Ning slips a nice elbow through Harrison's hands, connecting with Harrison's forehead.
Ning passes to full mount!
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Ning is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Harrison can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Harrison felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Ning is cranking Harrison's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Harrison! He's tightened the choke and Harrison is tapping out!

Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.

Waitzel takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Rocco Stupka seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Stupka fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Waitzel looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Waitzel uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Stupka.

Waitzel lands a left and a right that send Stupka crashing to the mat, dazed. Waitzel thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

The cut above Rocco Stupka's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

Waitzel moves out of range as Stupka strikes.
A big right from Stupka misses.
Stupka goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Waitzel closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Waitzel tries to clinch there but Stupka circles away.
Waitzel checks a leg kick nicely.
Stupka needs to keep his hands up - Waitzel had a free shot at his head there.

Rocco Stupka's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Stupka gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Waitzel regains guard.

Stupka is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Stupka won't allow Waitzel to get back to his feet.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Waitzel drops Stupka with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Stupka looks back up at him and smiles so Waitzel waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Rocco Stupka's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:13 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Shane Waitzel!
Shane Waitzel took to the mic in his post fight interview and said 'Happy new year motherfuckers. See you at the bar down the street in a moment. I'll pay...'.
