The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Novak avoids a punch combination nicely.
Novak shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Nelson throws a body kick that misses and Novak moves into the clinch. Novak misses with a knee to the head. Nelson looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Nelson can't break the clinch.
Novak comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
It looks like Jake Nelson has been cut. Nelson will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Novak up against the cage. Nelson drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Biz leaves Fighter with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Fighter blocks a head kick by Biz .
Fighter gets caught napping as Biz dives in and scores a takedown. Fighter manages to retain guard. Fighter preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Fighter is looking for a triangle but Biz pushes his legs off easily.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Frost fails with the takedown. Bob has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Frost showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Bob.
Frost feints and as Bob raises his hands in defense, Frost changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Frost sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Bob's guard. Frost is trying to control the action in half guard but Bob is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Frost stalling. Frost is looking for a kimura here.
Bob wants to get back to full guard. My spies in ~Abobomination Training $700 13 LEGIT elite coache inform me that Frost has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends! Frost is just content to waste time from the top position. Bob takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Frost wants to control from the top but Bob keeps moving. Frost slips nicely into half guard. Bob moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Frost uses his free foot to push down on Bob's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Bob. Bob slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Still in half guard, Frost seems content to control. Frost seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Bob does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Bob wants to get back to full guard.

Bob tries to improve position but can't. You can see the frustration on Bob's face as Frost controls the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bob manages to get back to half guard. Frost wants to take a breather but Bob is having none of it.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Frost tries to free his leg and advance position but Bob is retaining full guard. Frost avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
