The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Turk lands a two punch combo.

It looks like Sean Ripgut has been cut.
Turk has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Ripgut is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Turk thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Ripgut if he has to take too many more of those.
Turk throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Johnny Turk seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ripgut takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Pitbull tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Torrio was well out of range. Poor timing from Pitbull.

A short body shot lands from Pitbull as the two fighters clinch.

Torrio is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Pitbull is just riding it out for now. Torrio eventually gives up the hold.
Pitbull tries to kick Torrio off in order to stand up. Torrio Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.

Skywalker throws out a loose jab but Burke uses good head movement to avoid it.

Skywalker takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Burke feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Elroy Kleinschmidt was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Eric Lindros decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
