The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Roman bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Roman is trying to get an arm triangle but Atkinson is defending well.
My spies in Rollins Elite Gym inform me that Roman has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
Atkinson is trying to buck Roman off.
Atkinson tries to get back to half guard but can't.
We've been hearing good reports from Atkinson's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Roman wants to lay and pray for a moment but Atkinson keeps working.

Roman tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Roman has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

A very excited looking Greco Roman rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
