Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, hc hc! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tupou Tuivaga! The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Damien Edna and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! hc shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Tuivaga but Tuivaga pushes him off and we're back to square one. Tuivaga lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
hc shoots in for a takedown but Tuivaga shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. hc changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Tuivaga tries to avoid it but hc manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Tuivaga to the ground. Tuivaga escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for hc hc. That's going to take a lot out of him. Tuivaga closes the distance and clinches up with hc, looking for a takedown. Tuivaga pushes hc against the cage but hc circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. hc throws a head kick but Tuivaga moves out of range.

Tuivaga closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming hc to the mat! hc manages to get full guard. hc is breathing heavily. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. hc escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Tuivaga gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. hc looking for a guillotine here but Tuivaga defends easily.

Tuivaga is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. hc keeping moving, preventing Tuivaga from controlling successfully. Tuivaga passes into half guard. Tuivaga is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tuivaga stalling. hc looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Tuivaga is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Tuivaga is thwarting hc's attempts to control the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. hc is in trouble now - Tuivaga has advanced to mount! hc tries to get back to half guard but can't. Tuivaga avoids the attempt from hc to control. It looks like Tuivaga might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Tuivaga looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Tuivaga controlling his opponent. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. hc is looking to improve his position but Tuivaga isn't that keen on the idea. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tupou Tuivaga dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Tuivaga closes the distance and clinches up with hc, looking for a takedown. Tuivaga pushes hc against the cage but hc circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. hc scores with a leg kick.

Tuivaga dives in and scores a takedown into hc's guard. hc bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Tuivaga's guard. Tuivaga tries to land a sweep but no joy. Tuivaga looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. hc throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Tuivaga works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Tuivaga has an active guard here but hc has managed to pass into half guard.
Tuivaga is looking to control hc's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Tuivaga avoid being mounted? Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. hc winds up and cracks Tuivaga with a swinging punch to the side of the head. hc throwing shots but Tuivaga is blocking nicely. hc looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Tupou Tuivaga has got the better of the ground game so far. hc tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Tuivaga. Tuivaga wants to control but hc is keeping busy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Tuivaga is pressing down on hc's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. The fighters are working up against the cage. Tuivaga manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage. Tuivaga is pushing hc up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Tuivaga tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Tuivaga is looking to take a break and control but hc is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. hc wants to improve his position but Tuivaga is controlling well.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Tuivaga wants to take a breather but hc is having none of it. hc wants to control but Tuivaga is keeping busy.
hc actively working from the bottom here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Tuivaga performing his best blanket impression for a moment. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tupou Tuivaga showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! hc's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Tuivaga. Tuivaga fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but hc avoids it really well and circles away. hc fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. hc scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

hc hc is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Tuivaga stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from hc. No luck for Tuivaga with that takedown attempt. hc tries to bum rush Tuivaga with a series of wild strikes but Tuivaga uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. hc throws a wild combination but nothing lands. hc wants to clinch and Tuivaga moves into the clinch. Tuivaga pulls guard successfully.
hc prevents Tuivaga from getting back to his feet. hc trying to control the position from guard on top but Tuivaga is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. hc stopping the sweep attempt from Tuivaga. hc wants to pass the guard but Tuivaga is keeping the position. Tuivaga controls hc momentarily but hc frees himself.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tuivaga is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Tuivaga is taking a breather. hc says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. hc is trying to stand back up but Tuivaga is controlling him
Tuivaga is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and hc defends it well. hc slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. hc isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Tuivaga stacks hc on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Tuivaga! hc tries to improve position but can't. Tuivaga decides to take the fight back to the feet. Tuivaga closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Our sources have told us that hc has been working on his knees in the buildup to the fight. hc wants to get back to striking at distance but Tuivaga won't allow it.
Tuivaga has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics hc uses from the top position. hc is looking to stand up but Tuivaga won't let him. Tuivaga looking for a guillotine here but hc defends easily.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. hc throws a head kick that misses. hc tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. hc hc has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Tupou Tuivaga is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Tuivaga looks to land a combination but hc avoids it well.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A shot to the liver by Whetu. Beautiful body shot. Kumar fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Whetu sprawls well initially but Kumar persists and gets the takedown into half guard. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Whetu blocking the ground and pound attempt from Kumar. Whetu wants to get back to full guard. Kumar seems to be looking for submissions.

A much better position for Whetu. Kumar wants to control from the top but Whetu keeps moving.

Kumar throwing strikes but missing. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Whetu wants to sweep but no luck. We've been hearing that Kumar has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Kumar is in close to Whetu's body, working some short punches and elbows. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Kumar's corner is telling him to maintain position. Kumar trying to control the position from guard on top but Whetu is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Kumar working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Whetu gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gideon Kumar. That's going to take a lot out of him. Whetu pushing out the jab but it's not landing.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Whetu will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
No luck for Kumar with that takedown attempt. Whetu scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
It looks like Gideon Kumar has been cut. Whetu swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Kumar gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Whetu to score an easy takedown into full guard. Gideon Kumar overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Whetu postures up in Kumar's guard and throws a big left but Kumar blocks it. Whetu would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Kumar pulls Whetu in to control the position. Kumar manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage. An uppercut to the body lands inside from Whetu.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Whetu with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head. A short right from Whetu. Kumar tries for a takedown but Whetu manages to get underhooks.

Kumar takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Whetu lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. The fight stays on the outside here - Kumar looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

A good leg kick by Whetu. Whetu fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Kumar. Whetu throws a nice looking combination but Kumar bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Kumar tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Whetu swivels and escapes. Nice uppercut lands for Whetu. That snapped Kumar's head back.
Whetu has closed the distance and engaged Kumar in a clinch.
Whetu's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Whetu throws a sloppy head kick and Kumar moves out of range easily. Whetu has taken the fight to the clinch.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gideon Kumar. That's going to take a lot out of him. No luck with that takedown attempt from Kumar. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Whetu goes for a double leg but Kumar avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Kumar continues to drive forward.

Kumar fails to land the takedown. Whetu moves into the clinch. Kumar blocks a body shot from Whetu. A short right hand to the side of the head by Whetu. Kumar has Whetu pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Whetu manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Whetu drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Kumar shoots in for a takedown but Whetu shows good takedown defense. Kumar takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Kumar walks into a straight right hand from Whetu. A good leg kick by Whetu. Whetu jabs Kumar right on the nose. Kumar blinks but takes it well. Whetu lands a nice shot that snaps Kumar's head back.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Kumar avoids the body shot from Whetu.
Kumar walks forward, straight into a front kick from Whetu. The crowd cheers as Whetu lands an impressive looking overhand right. Kumar doesn't seem phased though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Whetu takes the fight into the clinch. Whetu landing knees to the body.
Whetu pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Kumar is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. Whetu instigates a clinch. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Whetu creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Whetu landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Whetu unloads a knee to the mid-section. Kumar lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. Whetu creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Kumar's defenses. Whetu has been the more effective fighter overall so far. A right hook to the body lands for Whetu.
Whetu lands with a short head shot on the inside. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Whetu ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Whetu no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Whetu trying to control the position.
Whetu bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Kumar's guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Israel Whetu comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Whetu has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jonathan Tiberun (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eddie Me (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Eddie Me struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 186.7lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tiberun gets a double leg takedown into Me's guard. Tiberun is in close to Me's body, working some short punches and elbows. Tiberun pushes down on Me's leg and manages to get into half guard. Me is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Tiberun scores with a couple of nice shots. Me is trying to control but Tiberun passes into side control!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Tiberun landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Tiberun has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Me is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Tiberun yanks on the arm and Me is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Tiberun.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jnr tries for a takedown but Cheong circles away easily and Cheong counters with a nice double leg into side control. Jnr won't be happy with that. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Cheong passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Jnr! Cheong will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Jnr working to try and regain half guard.
Jnr is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Cheong content just to control the position here. Jnr defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Cheong. Cheong prevents Jnr from getting the reversal. Cheong looking to control but Jnr is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Jnr should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Jnr sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Cheong's guard. Cheong tries to get to full guard but Jnr has control of the leg. Jnr trying to control the action but Cheong is working from the bottom. Jnr is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Cheong slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Jnr throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Cheong works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Cheong keeping moving, preventing Jnr from controlling successfully.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Jnr accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Jnr wants to control from the top but Cheong keeps moving. Jnr trying to move into half guard but instead Cheong has managed to sweep! Cheong pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Jnr is keeping the position for now. Cheong is working hard here to advance position. Cheong trying to control the position from guard on top but Jnr is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Jnr trying to keep a closed guard but Cheong is proving a slippery customer.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Jnr is not content to let Cheong control the position. Cheong is trying to get an arm triangle but Jnr is defending well. Jnr is looking to regain half guard here but Cheong keeps moving and retains side control. Jnr is still trying to improve position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Jnr manages to work his way to half guard, despite Cheong's best efforts. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Leung Cheong will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Cheong is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Jnr stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cheong swivels though and keeps the full guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Jnr trying to control the position from guard on top but Cheong is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
GK Jnr showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Jnr shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Cheong but Cheong pushes him off and we're back to square one. Jnr changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Cheong looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Jnr working away. Cheong is trying to improve his position. Jnr goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Cheong has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Jnr but great work by Cheong. Cheong is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Jnr is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Cheong thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Jnr is looking to reverse the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cheong just content to control the position. Jnr tries to bench press Cheong off him but Cheong keeps the position. Jnr is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Cheong tries to advance to mount but can't. Cheong working away. Jnr tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Cheong wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Jnr is holding Cheong down, trying to stall.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jnr is looking to reverse the position. Jnr trying to control but Cheong flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back! The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Cheong's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
Cheong really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Jnr. Cheong really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Jnr rolls, trying to escape but Cheong keeps control of the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cheong has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Jnr's body.

Jnr is squirming around, avoiding Cheong's attempts to control the action. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Cheong looking for a guillotine from mount but Jnr is having none of it.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Leung Cheong. I think Cheong has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Red Gym misses the shot to the body. White takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Red Gym pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces White back to the cage. Red Gym follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. White misses with a kick to the body.
Red Gym looks to score with a jab to the body but White is just out of range. Red Gym has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Hate Made Me Asylum in the buildup to the fight. Left hook, right uppercut from Red Gym. White shoots in for a double leg but Red Gym sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. John White seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Red Gym just misses with a punch to the body.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lim lands a nice looking body kick. Lim has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Saint Louis throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
