Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dion Phaneuf (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Justin Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Brown clobbers Maynard with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Brown shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Brown showed some decent athleticism there. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Maynard is trying to stand up here but Brown is controlling him well. Brown is trying to control the action in half guard but Maynard is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Brown scoring with strikes to the body and head. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Donk. Penn catches Macgregor right on the button with a cross. Penn feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Macgregors jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Penn lands with a shot to the body. Macgregor takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Penn has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Macgregor is landing a low percentage of strikes. Macgregor tries to keep at a distance but Penn has taken the fight into the clinch. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Macgregor ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Macgregor no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Macgregor keeping moving, preventing Penn from controlling successfully. Penn connects with a couple of short punches. Penn trying to control but Macgregor is working from the bottom. Macgregor is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Penn is aware though and is defending well. Penn gets to his feet. Macgregor looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Penn scores with a takedown into Macgregor's guard. Penn stands up over Macgregor, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Penn lands a couple of digs. Penn reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Penn taps out! Nice BJJ there by Macgregor!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Duncan Macgregor! Duncan Macgregor spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Staller closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Staller lands in his opponent's guard. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Staller with a flurry of punches that miss. Staller wants to pass the guard but Anderson is keeping the position. Staller working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Anderson is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Staller drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Anderson manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Staller has Anderson in his guard. Anderson trying to stand up but can't free himself from Staller's guard.

Anderson is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Staller has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position.
