Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Frankie Hoggets! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Olias Pasaltha! The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Steve Erwin and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pasaltha stuffs the takedown attempt from Hoggets. Hoggets gets slowly back to his feet. Pasaltha drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Hoggets looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Hoggets escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Pasaltha gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Pasaltha stands up over Hoggets, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Pasaltha wants to pass the guard but Hoggets is keeping the position. Hoggets is looking for a triangle but Pasaltha pushes his legs off easily.
Pasaltha lands a couple of elbows. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Pasaltha is in close to Hoggets's body, working some short punches and elbows. Hoggets could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Pasaltha with a nice head shot there. Pasaltha in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Pasaltha is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Olias Pasaltha wasn't active enough on the ground. Hoggets throws out a loose jab but Pasaltha uses good head movement to avoid it. Pasaltha misses with a takedown attempt and Hoggets counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Pasaltha slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Pasaltha keeping moving, preventing Hoggets from controlling successfully. Pasaltha tries to land a sweep but no joy. Hoggets wants to control from the top but Pasaltha keeps moving. Hoggets might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Hoggets pushes down on Pasaltha's leg and manages to get into half guard. Hoggets controlling the action here. Pasaltha pushes Hoggets off looking to stand but Hoggets dives back in and keeps control.

Pasaltha shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Hoggets counters with a shoot takedown. Pasaltha fights it but they end up in guard. Frankie Hoggets has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Olias Pasaltha. Pasaltha wants to stand but Hoggets is controlling the position. Hoggets trying to control the position from guard on top but Pasaltha is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Pasaltha is breathing heavily. Hoggets stops Pasaltha from standing up. Pasaltha preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Pasaltha is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Hoggets fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Pasaltha misses with a takedown attempt and Hoggets counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Hoggets.

Hoggets stands and throws Pasaltha's legs to the side, diving into side control. Pasaltha is not content to let Hoggets control the position. An elbow from Hoggets crashes against the mat.

Hoggets works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Frankie Hoggets overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Hoggets wants to lay and pray for a moment but Pasaltha keeps working. Pasaltha is looking to regain half guard here but Hoggets keeps moving and retains side control. Hoggets staying calm. Hoggets is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Pasaltha knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Pasaltha is trying to control Hoggets's posture but Hoggets avoids it.

And that's the end of the fight! Olias Pasaltha comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Hoggets has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. And that's the end of the fight! Yaw Quartey comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Quartey has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jack Coulson! The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Skip Squint and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones tries to clinch up but Coulson circles away and keeps his distance. Coulson keeps the fight on the outside. Tom Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A combination from Coulson does no damage. Coulson shoots in for a takedown but Jones shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Jones connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Coulson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Jones as he jumps to the side. Jones fails with an attempt to clinch.

Coulson shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Jones is trying to defend but Coulson finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Jones controlling the position for now. Jones wants to get back to his feet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Obdergrov wants to clinch but Mir slips to the side and Mir counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Obdergrov working for a triangle but Mir defends it easily.
Mir stops Obdergrov from standing up. Mir trying to control the position from guard on top but Obdergrov is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Obdergrov looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Obdergrov trying to keep a closed guard but Mir is proving a slippery customer.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Obdergrov dives in and scores a takedown into Mir's guard. Obdergrov is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Obdergrov throws a strike but Mir rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Obdergrov keeping moving, preventing Mir from controlling successfully. Obdergrov really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Mir stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Obdergrov swivels though and keeps the full guard. Mir thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Frank Mir was stalling too much, according to the referee. Excellent takedown into side control there by Obdergrov. Obdergrov working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Obdergrov landing strikes.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Mir manages to get back to half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Mikhail Obdergrov will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Mikhail Obdergrov. Mir gets caught napping as Obdergrov dives in and scores a takedown. Mir manages to retain guard. Obdergrov in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Mir wants to sweep but no luck. Mir working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Obdergrov doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Mir is tightening it up a little... Obdergrov has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Obdergrov reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Obdergrov taps out! Nice BJJ there by Mir!
