The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bob shoots in looking for a takedown. Clow tries to sprawl out of it but Bob keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Clow manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Bob shoots and misses

so Clow counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Bob wants to stand but Clow is controlling the position.

Bob working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Clow doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Bob is tightening it up a little... Clow has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Clow reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Clow taps out! Nice BJJ there by Bob!

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Meyer has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

My spies in Steel Penn/Heavy Hands Gym inform me that Arenas has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between hi Kick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pa Parenteau (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). hi Kick had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 172.3lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. hi Kick looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Mamba crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Malone - the referee stops the clock and Mamba gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Malone. Mamba manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Mamba takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Malone cracks Mamba with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Malone has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Mamba to stand back up!

Malone Throws a clean left jab. Malone Twirls his body and connects with a Spinning Back Fist that connects flush with Mamba's chin! Mamba crumbles to the ground and Malone follows up with some unanswered strikes. It's all over!! Nice standup skills displayed by Malone!

After winning the bout, Banger Malone thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Martin Zinn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Goon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Zinn might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to All Day. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Martin Zinn has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Johnny Goon.

Zinn keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Zinn digs a good body shot into Goon's ribs.
Zinn connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Zinn lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Goon shoots for a double leg takedown but Zinn sprawls well. He's pushed Goon's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Zinn smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Goon shoots in for a takedown but Zinn shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Goon looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Zinn is fending him off so far but Goon persists. Nope, Zinn circles away and we're back to standing.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Zinn postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Goon is trying to keep Zinn in close.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Zinn wants to get up but he can't break Goon's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Zinn in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Zinn postures up in Goon's guard and throws a big left but Goon blocks it.
Goon seems to have recovered his senses.
Goon controls Zinn momentarily but Zinn frees himself.
Zinn working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Goon's head.

Zinn stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Goon swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Zinn in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Goon manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Zinn manages to break the clinch.
Zinn throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Goon shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Zinn.
Zinn lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Goon at a distance.
Goon shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Zinn defends it nicely.
Zinn cracks Goon with an open hand slap.

Zinn goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Goon takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Goon shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Zinn counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Goon takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
A left lands for Zinn.
Goon shoots for a takedown but Zinn saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
It looks like Zinn has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him.
Zinn lands with a good body shot.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Goon shoots in looking for a takedown but Zinn manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Goon's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Zinn fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Goon looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Zinn scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Goon doesn't seem bothered though.
Goon walks into a jab.

Johnny Goon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Zinn lands a big right hand that sends Goon crashing to the mat! Zinn stays standing though and waves Goon back to his feet!

Goon gets hit by the mother of all head kicks and drops to the canvas in a crumpled heap! Woooow, the Internet is going to be talking about this one for weeks!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:07 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Martin Zinn!
A relieved looking Martin Zinn thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
