The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dlgirhadsgklasdjf tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Dlgirhadsgklasdjf takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Dlgirhadsgklasdjf wants to clinch and Dlgirhadsgklasdjf takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Matthews closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Matthews has been working on his balance at LOD - Quality Training , so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Dlgirhadsgklasdjf. Matthews blocks a body shot from Dlgirhadsgklasdjf. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Matthews creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Coy tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Milligan connects with a leg kick. Coy looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Coy looking to score a takedown here. Milligan is defending well but Coy drives through and ends up in Milligan's guard. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Lancaster shoots in looking for a takedown but Denson manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Lancaster's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Horrible takedown by Lancaster or perhaps it was just good defense by Denson which made him look bad. Lancaster looking for a takedown here - he's got it. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Denson avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Denson is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Lancaster seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Avro Lancaster hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. A head kick by Lancaster misses and Denson counters with a left and a right that stings Lancaster. Lancaster manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Denson on his heels. He'll look to pass Denson's guard now, I'm sure. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Lancaster working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though. Lancaster not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Denson wants to get back to his feet but Lancaster is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Lancaster sitting in guard here, content to control.

Though backs away from a small jab... but Gibbler lunges forward with a huge superman punch! Though crumples to the ground as his mouth piece is sent flying! Gibbler with a spectacular finish!

Froch fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Blanco sprawls well initially but Froch persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Froch not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Blanco is not content to let Froch control the position. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Blanco regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Froch. Blanco controls Froch momentarily but Froch frees himself. Froch wants to control from the top but Blanco keeps moving. Froch sitting in guard here, content to control.

Froch throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Blanco works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Blanco working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Froch. Froch is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Carlo Froch was stalling too much, according to the referee. Froch changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Blanco tries to avoid it but Froch manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Blanco to the ground. Blanco escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Blanco lands a body shot.

Blanco jabbing away but nothing is landing. Blanco takes a swing at Froch's ribcage but misses. Froch misses with a jab, cross combination.
We've been told by Blanco's head coaches at The Pit that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
