Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jessie Sherbang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Swan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Swan comes into a darkened arena with his song building. White guy's struggle kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! On his way into the cage it seems that Jessie Sherbang has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Jessie Sherbang seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jon Swan! The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Albert Achterberg and Paul Aken.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Swan fails in his attempt to clinch. Swan closes the distance looking to clinch and Sherbang counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Sherbang dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage. Sherbang misses with an elbow over the top. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Swan. Sherbang is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Swan with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Sherbang tries to pull guard but Swan forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Swan lands with a left to the head. Swan swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Sherbang gets a trip takedown into half guard. Swan has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Soul Supremacy Fight Club - ELITE TRAINERS----$580. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Sherbang is nestled in close to Swan, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Sherbang takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sherbang tries to stand but can't do so whilst Swan controls his leg. Swan is looking to escape. We've been hearing good reports from Sherbang's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Sherbang will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Swan tries to clinch but fails miserably and Sherbang counters with a nice double leg into side control. Swan won't be happy with that. Swan wants to get back to his feet but Sherbang is dominant here and he's now got Swan's back! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Green misses with a takedown attempt - Durant sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Green closes the distance and clinches. Green is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Durant can't fight it off and eventually Green manages to take the fight to the floor. Durant looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ogwonna no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Ogwonna is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Volkov lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Volkov scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Stairs is looking to reverse the position. Stairs struggling a bit here. Stairs is looking for a sweep. Stairs is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Volkov's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Volkov looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Stairs tries to get to full guard but Volkov has control of the leg. Stairs moves into full guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Stairs has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Volkov can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

It's preventing any offense from Volkov, at least for the moment. Stairs is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Stairs controls Volkov momentarily but Volkov frees himself. Volkov looking to sit in guard and control but Stairs gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Stairs with a nice head shot there. Volkov keeping moving, preventing Stairs from controlling successfully. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Stairs pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Volkov is keeping the position for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Stairs drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Stairs jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Volkov avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Volkov keeping full guard, as Stairs tries to pass. Stairs slips nicely into half guard. Volkov is refusing to be controlled, as Stairs sits in half guard. Stairs frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Volkov knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Stairs on the ground. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Volkov sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Stairs is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Volkov has managed to free his arm - good work. Stairs is working for a kimura but Volkov is defending it quite comfortably.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Stairs looks winded! Stairs works his way into side control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Volkov tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Stairs wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Volkov can't do much from the bottom here. Spiral Stairs dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

So far it seems to be working well. Stairs is controlling the pace.

Stairs stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Volkov swivels though and keeps the full guard. Stairs's corner is telling him to maintain position. Stairs distracts Volkov with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Stairs seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Volkov looking to control.

Stairs tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Stairs has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Volkov takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Volkov regains half guard. Stairs wants to control but Volkov is keeping him busy. Stairs seems to be working for a kimura but Volkov defends the submission attempt. Volkov has hold of Stairs's hands but Stairs slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Volkov! Volkov in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Stairs landing punches. Stairs is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Volkov can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Volkov stops Stairs from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better. Stairs takes Volkov's back. Stairs controlling from the back. Volkov preventing the rear naked choke attempt from Stairs. Spiral Stairs is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Volkov is defending against the submission attempts here by Stairs.

The Steel Penn decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way. The defeated Takeshi Toriyama had this to say: 'It's sad that I couldn't get the belt and become the first ever GFC Welterweight champion. Penn is a good fighter, good man, all respect to him, he earned it rightfully and deserved that. '.
