Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Wanderlei Silva!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Winston Alpacca and Bart Greer.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hentes walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Silva instigates a clinch.
Hentes is trying to drag Silva to the mat but Silva just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Silva lands a right hand that snaps the head of Hentes backwards.
Hentes has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Silva avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Hentes changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Silva fights it off and pushes away nicely.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Oliver Hentes. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hentes is trying hard to land a takedown here. Silva sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Wanderlei Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hentes fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Silva drops Hentes with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Hentes looks back up at him and smiles so Silva waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

It looks like Oliver Hentes has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Silva stuns Hentes with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Hentes is breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Silva fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Silva drops a shoulder and throws a monster hook that connects perfectly to the side of Hentes's head, knocking him out cold! Silva is extatic as he celebrates with his cornermen.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:09 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Wanderlei Silva!

Dankner lands a body shot.
Dankner looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.

Dankner changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Sherman looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Dankner misses with the ground and pound.
Dankner tries to stand but Sherman is controlling his head.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sherman manages to get back to half guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Dankner is sitting in close to Sherman's body. Sherman has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Dankner is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Dankner is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Sherman.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Richard Sherman!
An out of breath Richard Sherman thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
