0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Anderson Peixoto! The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Edson Gomes and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Peixoto ducks right into an uppercut from Halo. Peixoto looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Halo defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Peixoto. Anderson Peixoto seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Peixoto shoots in for a takedown but Halo shows good takedown defense. Chryst Halo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Anderson Peixoto. Peixoto uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Halo.
Jab from Halo. Halo throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Peixoto looks winded! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Halo cracks Peixoto with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Halo has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Peixoto to stand back up! Halo lands a jab to Peixoto's midsection.

Nice shot lands for Halo.
Peixoto is rocked! Halo lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Peixoto up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Halo from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Peixoto's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.

HoKelly slaps away a takedown attempt from Mariano, before circling back to the center of the mat. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. HoKelly stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Mariano tries to close the distance and clinch but HoKelly swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Mariano has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A momentary lapse in concentration from Boxer enables Tupuola to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Boxer manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Boxer is trying to control the position from the bottom.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Mc GInnley throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Toderov works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
