Noise is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Ry can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Piil closes the distance and clinches.

Bertelsen is fighting off a takedown attempt but Piil is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Bertelsen to the mat. Bertelsen regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Piil drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Piil jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Piil tries to free his leg and advance position but Bertelsen is retaining full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bertelsen wants to get back to his feet but Piil is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Piil trying to control the position from guard on top but Bertelsen is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Piil slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Piil looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Piil wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bertelsen keeps working.

Piil has hold of Bertelsen's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Bertelsen tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Piil cranks the arm and Bertelsen screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Bertelsen, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
