These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Golzar swings for the body but James moves out of range.
Golzar scores with a punch to the head. Golzar shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Golzar was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Golzar is landing with some decent strikes but James is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Golzar looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A nice combination there by Heavy.
It looks like Erik Schillinger has been cut. Heavy lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Heavy. Heavy scores with a nice strike. Heavy really is a fat lump. Nice cross by Heavy. Schillinger changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Heavy tries to avoid it but Schillinger manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Heavy to the ground. Heavy escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Schillinger closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Schillinger wants to lay and pray for a moment but Heavy keeps working. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Schillinger goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Heavy has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Schillinger but great work by Heavy. Schillinger tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Heavy wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Schillinger is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Heavy decides to stand back up. Heavy throws a combination. Schillinger tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
That's one minute gone in the round. Heavy moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Schillinger takes one on the button.
That has opened up Erik Schillinger's cut even more. Heavy defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Schillinger. Schillinger looks gassed! Schillinger shoots in but Heavy avoids the takedown attempt easily. Zenon Heavy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Erik Schillinger. Heavy scores with a one two! Schillinger had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. A right-left combo lands from Heavy. Heavy lands with an overhand left. Schillinger seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Heavy shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Schillinger is backing up but Heavy catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Schillinger covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Heavy Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Speedos is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Korpisuo's half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Speedos is stalling here. Korpisuo is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Speedos seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Korpisuo has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Korpisuo trying to control the position but Speedos is working away. Speedos can't do much from the bottom here. Korpisuo creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Speedos manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Korpisuo tries to get to full guard but Speedos has control of the leg. Speedos throwing shots but Korpisuo is blocking nicely. Korpisuo is defending against the submission attempts here by Speedos.
Speedos is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Speedos closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Korpisuo is looking to regain half guard here but Speedos keeps moving and retains side control. Korpisuo sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Korpisuo wants to improve his position but Speedos is controlling well.

Speedos eventually gives up the hold. Speedos looks gassed! Korpisuo tries to get to full guard but Speedos has control of the leg. Speedos lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Korpisuo works his way back into a safe position though. Speedos escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Korpisuo gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Korpisuo trying to control the position from guard on top but Speedos is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Korpisuo drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Korpisuo jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Korpisuo got a little sloppy there for a moment and Speedos has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Korpisuo has managed to get both his arms back between Speedos's legs - danger averted. Korpisuo looking to pass the guard. Speedos utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Speedos working for a triangle but Korpisuo defends it easily.

Korpisuo is looking to defend but Speedos has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Korpisuo! Speedos pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Korpisuo taps out and this one is all over!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Savart connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. No joy there for Savart, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Savart takes the fight into the clinch. Savart using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.
Savart escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Nasty looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Nasty misses with a takedown attempt - Savart sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Savart wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Nasty is breathing heavily. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Savart bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick. Savart connects with a vicious head kick that knocks Nasty to the floor! Savart dives in looking for the finish!

That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Savart has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Nasty seems to have got his legs back now. Nasty dodges the ground and pound from Savart. Savart is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Nasty knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Nasty can't do much from the bottom here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Savart working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Savart landing a few strikes. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Nasty is looking for a sweep.

Kekkonen goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Cash swats away the attempt to clinch by Kekkonen. No luck with that takedown attempt from Cash. Cash shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Kekkonen sprawls well. Kekkonen wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Cash gets slowly back to his feet. Urho Kekkonen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Johnny Cash. Kekkonen closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Kekkonen content to slow the pace in the clinch.

He has the arm isolated but Halonen is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Halonen wants to control but Eide Buestad postures up. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Alavaara tries a low kick but Soturi avoids it. Alavaara keeps the fight on the outside. No luck with that takedown attempt from Soturi. Alavaara digs a good body shot into Soturi's ribs. Soturi closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Sloppy strikes there by Soturi. Soturi working the strikes but Alavaara uses the opportunity to regain half guard. Alavaara blocking the ground and pound attempt from Soturi. Soturi has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Soturi desperately trying to maintain half guard. Soturi is not content to let Alavaara control the position. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Soturi makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Soturi. Soturi distracts Alavaara with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Soturi throws a strike but Alavaara rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Soturi pulls Alavaara in close to prevent any damage. Soturi tries to land a sweep but no joy. Alavaara is stalling in the full guard. Soturi is working an open guard so Alavaara takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Mauri Alavaara is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
