The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A combination from James does no damage. Joaquin throws a head kick that misses. Joaquin misses with a combination
and James counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Joaquin changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. James tries to avoid it but Joaquin manages to keep hold of a leg and drag James to the ground. James escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. James throws a series of punches but Joaquin moves out of range. James fails to land with a series of punches.
James throws a right hand that Joaquin ducks under and follows up with a left that Joaquin also avoids with ease. James has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Nordic Top Team in the buildup to the fight. Joaquin looks to land a combination but James avoids it well. Joaquin misses with a two punch combination.
Joaquin tries to grapple but his opponent circles and James counters with a one-two to the body. James gets caught flat footed, as Joaquin shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Joaquin gets to his feet. James looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Joaquin tries to close the distance and clinch up but James swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Nice body punch from James. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Joaquin throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around James's waist but James gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Joaquin off to one side. Joaquin is on the wrong end of a nice combination from James. James throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

James did well to prevent Joaquin getting side control. Joaquin is looking for a kimura here.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stewart moves forwards but Gordon connects with a nice, crisp jab. Gordon thows a leg kick but Stewart checks it and Stewart counters with an outside leg kick.

Stewart looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. No luck for Stewart with that takedown attempt. Gordon is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Gordon showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Stewart.
Gordon swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Gordon should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Gordon has eaten all the pies! Stewart is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Gordon throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Stewart sees it coming and avoids it easily. Gordon's coach down at Nordic Top Team was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Gordon's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Gordon moves into the clinch successfully.
Gordon turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Gordon manages to end up in side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Stewart regains half guard. Gordon is looking to pass Stewart's guard but actually Stewart recovers to full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Gordon accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Stewart is on top in guard.
Stewart drops back looking for a leg! Gordon is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Gordon manages to kick Stewart off! Stewart jumps back into Gordon's guard. Gordon is looking to stand up but Stewart isn't so interested in that idea. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Stewart stands and steps away. Gordon gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Stewart wants to clinch up but Gordon keeps it at a distance. Stewart closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Gordon wants to get back to full guard. Stewart is trying for a kimura here. Gordon looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Stewart wins by kimura!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rodriguez shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Johnson as he avoids it easily. Rodriguez shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Johnson defends it nicely. William Johnson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rodriguez tries to sprawl but Johnson drives through with a takedown into half guard. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Johnson is controlling the pace.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Johnson controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Johnson wanted to stand there but Rodriguez had control of the position. Johnson is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jace Beleren! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ivan Drago! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Alexandre Firmino and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Beleren displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Drago throws out the jab. Drago has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Drago moves out of range of the strikes. Ivan Drago seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Some wild striking there from Beleren.
Drago uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Beleren. No joy there for Drago, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Drago throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Beleren on the side of the head. Beleren connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Drago momentarily.
A left lands for Beleren. Drago misses with a straight right. A jab from Beleren misses. A telegraphed right hand from Drago misses the target. Beleren throws a right and a left that Drago avoids nicely. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Drago dodges the punch combination from Beleren.
Drago waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Beleren. Drago cracks Beleren with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Beleren moves in looking to clinch but Drago pushes him off.
That's one minute gone in the round. Beleren looks to score with a jab to the body but Drago is just out of range. Beleren fails in his attempt to clinch. Drago moves out of range as Beleren strikes. Beleren jabbing away but nothing is landing. A slapping leg kick lands for Drago.
Beleren throws a body punch but Drago moves out of range. Drago takes one to the chin there. Drago lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Beleren throws a jab when Drago was well out of range. Drago throws a chopping leg kick but Beleren manages to avoid taking any serious damage. Drago does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Beleren throws a right hand that misses
and Drago counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Beleren throws a looping overhand right but Drago ducks down to avoid it. Drago throws a big shot that misses. This has been an exciting period of action! Beleren takes a swing at Drago's ribcage but misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sloppy strikes from Beleren. Those never looked like landing. Drago fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Beleren on the side of the head. Nice uppercut there from Drago. Beleren throws a lazy right hand but Drago sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Drago connects with a jab, followed by a picture perfect straight right that sends Beleren to the canvas, out cold! What a finish by Drago!
