The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kent changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Skelletor tries to avoid it but Kent manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Skelletor to the ground. Skelletor escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Skelletor fails to land with a series of punches.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Tefft is trying to get back to full guard. Tuesday wants to free his trapped foot but Tefft is holding on for dear life with his legs. Tuesday is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Ghost thuds a left hand into Fondelier's body. Fondelier is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Ghost misses with a hook. Fondelier ducked under it nicely. Fondelier looks to throw the jab but Ghost is out of range. Ghost moves into the clinch. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Fondelier is leaning against Ghost and scores with a nice uppercut to the body. Fondelier misses with an elbow over the top. Fondelier swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Fondelier lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Matt Fondelier dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Sloppy strikes from Ghost. Those never looked like landing. Fondelier throws a nice looking combination but Ghost bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Fondelier throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Ghost sees it coming and avoids it easily. Ghost throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Fondelier. Fondelier fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Ghost is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent. Ghost shoots in for a takedown but Fondelier shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Ghost moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. The fight moves into the clinch position. This has been an exciting period of action! Fondelier breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Ghost throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Fondelier's waist but Fondelier gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Ghost off to one side. Fondelier is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Fondelier connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Ghost throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Fondelier throws a shot to the body.
Ghost is breathing heavily. Fondelier throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Matt Fondelier is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Ghost takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Ghost gets tagged by a hook that puts him to sleep! Fondelier points and yells something to his unconcious foe before strutting off. Ghost wakes up just in time to hear Fondelier thank his coaches in the post fight interview.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Chechnya misses with a series of wild punches.

Chechnya throws a series of punches but Steiner avoids them all with ease. Steiner has taken the fight to the clinch.
Steiner manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Steiner trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Steiner pushes Chechnya off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Steiner keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Steiner takes a swing at Chechnya's ribcage but misses. Chechnya slaps away a takedown attempt from Steiner, before circling back to the center of the mat. Steiner dives in and grabs Chechnya's left leg, looking for a takedown. Chechnya pushes down on Steiner's head and hops out.
That's one minute gone in the round. Steiner tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Chechnya manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Chechnya throws a series of punches but Steiner avoids them all with ease. Chechnya Chechnya seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Chechnya scores with a hook. Chechnya tries to sprawl but Steiner drives through with a takedown into half guard. Chechnya is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Elite Training Facility, so we'll see if he gets out of it. Steiner is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Steiner is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Chechnya has managed to free his arm - good work. Steiner looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Steiner has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Steiner connects with a nice short shot to Chechnya's temple. My spies in Clean and Green inform me that Steiner has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
