Meyer tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Alvarez manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Meyer shoots in for a takedown but Alvarez shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Dante Alvarez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Meyer takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Meyer slips a jab and a cross from Alvarez.
Alvarez throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Meyer.
Alvarez shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Meyer eats them both and turns towards Alvarez to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
