The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lambert fails to land with a series of punches.
Lambert tries to sprawl but Bisping drives through with a takedown into half guard. Bisping passes the guard and advances to mount! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lambert is looking to improve his position but Bisping isn't that keen on the idea. Bisping wants to control the pace but Lambert is squirming around nicely. Bisping fails to move to back control. Bisping moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Lambert has worked his arm free - good work by Lambert!

Lambert can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Bisping stands and throws Lambert's legs to the side, diving into side control. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Lambert is not content to let Bisping control the position.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Naji takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Naji throws a hook but Davis avoids it easily. Naji dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Davis throws a series of punches but Naji avoids them all with ease. Naji misses the jab. Naji shoots in and gets a takedown into Davis's guard. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Naji trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Naji in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Naji working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Naji is looking to work some ground and pound but Davis has wrist control. Naji is standing up over Davis. Davis looks to escape but Naji dives into side control.

Naji walks into a stiff left hand from Davis. Naji shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Davis sprawls well. Davis wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Naji gets slowly back to his feet. Naji takes a shot right to the bread basket. Davis is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Naji. Naji takes a kick to the body and keeps moving. Phil Davis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Naji lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Naji ducks right into an uppercut from Davis. Naji throws a shot from downtown. Davis moves away and avoids it. Davis throws a hook to the side of Naji's head but Naji sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Naji throws a jab when Davis was well out of range. Naji misses with a straight right. A punch combination from Davis misses. Naji misses with a lunging right hand
and Davis counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Naji! Naji manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Salnik ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Salnik looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Yagami actively working from the bottom here. Yagami looking for submissions off his back. Yagami tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Salnik has advanced to mount. Uh oh. Salnik is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Yagami can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Salnik could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Yagami keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Yagami slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Salnik looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Yagami with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Yagami looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

Salnik connects with a nice short shot to Yagami's temple. Yagami looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Salnik pushes past his half guard into mount! Salnik has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Salnik postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Yagami badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Salnik around the waist but Salnik pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Salnik is the winner by TKO! Salnik jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"

Dmitri Salnik decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
