The bell rings for round one and we are underway! deFunes throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Kahoohalphala lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but deFunes circles away quickly and effectively. Kahoohalphala scores with a jab. deFunes throws a head kick that Kahoohalphala semi-blocks.
It looks like Titus Kahoohalphala has been cut. Kahoohalphala moves out of range as deFunes throws a body kick.
We've been informed that deFunes has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Numa scores with a jab to the body. Cage throws a solid leg kick but Numa takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Cage. Cage wants to land a leg kick but Numa is out of range. Numa is looking to slow Cage down with leg kicks. We've been hearing reports that Numa has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Cage throws a body punch but Numa moves out of range. Numa shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Numa tries to land a leg kick but Cage saw it coming and moves away.
Nice cross by Numa. A combination from Cage does no damage. Cage throws an overhand right that lands on Numa's shoulder, as Numa tries to avoid the shot.
