Ribeiro is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Ribeiro seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Aleksandrowicz does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. The two fighters exchange a few words. Nice move by Aleksandrowicz! Ribeiro is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Aleksandrowicz is controlling him. The fighters are working up against the cage. Ribeiro manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage. Ribeiro turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Ribeiro manages to end up in side control. Aleksandrowicz can't do much from the bottom here. Ribeiro decides to stand back up. Ribeiro steps back and let's Aleksandrowicz get back to his feet. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Ribeiro shoots in for a takedown from distance. Aleksandrowicz shoots in for a takedown but Ribeiro shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Ribeiro gets the takedown into side control. Aleksandrowicz wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land. Ribeiro is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Aleksandrowicz will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fujita wants to clinch up but Koltun keeps it at a distance. Fujita shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Koltun as he avoids it easily. Koltun lands a big right hand that sends Fujita crashing to the mat! Koltun stays standing though and waves Fujita back to his feet!
It looks like Akira Fujita has been cut. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Koltun throws a mid kick that lands with a slap. We've been told by Koltun's head coaches at Commonwealth that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Koltun lands a brutal uppercut that launches Fujita off his feet! Fujita tumbles to the floor, barely conscious - the referee jumps in to save him from a beating! Wow, what an ending!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! An inside leg kick lands from Capriotti. Capriotti has closed the distance and engaged Carter in a clinch.
I was talking to Capriotti's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Capriotti is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Carter to keep the fight standing. Carter is fighting off a takedown attempt but Capriotti is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Carter to the mat. Carter regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Capriotti trying to control but Carter is working from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Capriotti lands a couple of digs. Capriotti stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Carter swivels though and keeps the full guard. Carter seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Capriotti wants to pass the guard but Carter is keeping the position. Capriotti drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Carter manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Capriotti has Carter in his guard.

Capriotti tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Carter manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Capriotti gets tackled into the cage by Carter. Carter maintains the clinch. An uppercut to the body lands inside from Carter. A short right hand to the side of the head by Carter. Capriotti tries to pull guard but Carter forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Capriotti is trying to pull guard but Carter has him pressed against the cage. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nikolay Capriotti. That's going to take a lot out of him. Carter trying to control the position but instead, Capriotti has worked for underhooks and has pushed Carter into the cage. Carter gets through Capriotti's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Capriotti drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Carter gets the underhooks and prevents it.

The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Carter looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Carter! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Capriotti is positioning himself to get back to half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Carter manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Nice uppercut lands for Carter. That snapped Capriotti's head back.

Capriotti slips a straight right by Carter. Capriotti moves in looking to clinch but Carter pushes him off. Carter throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Capriotti on the side of the head. Carter takes a body punch but keeps moving.

An inside leg kick lands from Carter. Carter looks to land a right hand but Capriotti moved out of range. Rubin Carter is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. A head kick misses from Carter. Carter throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Carter fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Capriotti is out of range. Capriotti fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Carter, pushing him back against the cage. A hook to the body from Capriotti.
Carter misses with a knee to the head. Both guys are working to get underhooks. Capriotti misses with a hook to the ribs.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Capriotti accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Carter trying to control the position from guard on top but Capriotti is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Carter is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Carter throws a hook to the side of Capriotti's head but Capriotti sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Carter ducks under a wild hook from Capriotti. Carter looks to score with a jab to the body but Capriotti is just out of range. Capriotti looks for a takedown but Carter sprawls well. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Carter does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Carter throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Capriotti sees it coming and avoids it easily.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Rubin Carter. I think Carter has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Zietsch misses with a looping right. A lazy left from Zietsch finds it's target. McGuiness misses with a takedown and Zietsch cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Zietsch throws a head kick but McGuiness moves out of range.
McGuiness fails with a takedown attempt. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from McGuiness. Zietsch keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
