The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

O Palmeiras clinches up with Minneo and pushes him back against the cage.
O Palmeiras drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Minneo gets the underhooks and prevents it.
O Palmeiras tries to score a body lock takedown but Minneo shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
O Palmeiras tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Minneo just stands there and leans against the cage.
We've been hearing reports that O Palmeiras has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Minneo tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Minneo has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Minneo has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Minneo feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

O Palmeiras fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Minneo has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Minneo is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

That was a close round but I would say that Dmonray Flauta will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Flauta glances at the clock... BAM! Barnes nails him with a big right hand! A momentary lapse in concentration sends Flauta crashing to the mat! The referee steps in and this one is over! Damn, Flauta is out of it, he thinks the ref is his opponent!
