0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rick Steiner! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Michael Givens! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Frank Dennis and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Givens tries to close the distance and clinch but Steiner swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Steiner avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Givens misses with a few strikes there.
Steiner rushes Givens and presses him up against the cage. Steiner decides to pull guard. Steiner wants to sweep but no luck. Steiner is pulling down on Givens's head. It's preventing any offense from Givens, at least for the moment. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Steiner is on top in guard.
Steiner really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Steiner looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Steiner stops Givens from standing up. Steiner trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Steiner stands and steps away. Givens gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Givens throws a right and a left that Steiner avoids nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Steiner circles away from the clinch attempt and Steiner counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Givens looks gassed! Givens wants to clinch and Steiner counters with a lovely shot to the body. Steiner has managed to clinch.
Givens wants to get back to striking at distance but Steiner won't allow it.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Steiner. Steiner stands up. Givens gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Steiner slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Steiner decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Givens, up you get! Givens falls off balance throwing a combination
and Steiner counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Steiner is looking to advance position but Givens won't allow it. Steiner stops Givens from getting back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Steiner works his way into full mount! Givens is trying to stand up. Steiner is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Givens has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Givens wants to try and get back to his feet. Steiner takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Givens really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Steiner. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Steiner has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Givens's face.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Givens is trying to stand but he's not in a good position to be doing that! Steiner has taken his back! Steiner throwing damaging strikes from the back! Givens could be in trouble here!
Steiner has good solid back control here. Givens won't enjoy being in this position. Steiner looking for the choke. Oh... he's slipped the arm under the neck - Givens is tapping - it's over boys! Steiner picks up the submission victory!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mana instigates a clinch. Vick works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Mana wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Vick controlling from the top position. Vick trying to control the position from guard on top but Mana is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Mana looking to control.
Vick wants to control from the top but Mana keeps moving. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Mana is on top in guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mana looking to pass the guard. Vick is looking for a triangle but Mana pushes his legs off easily.
Mana landing some decent shots from guard. Mana controls from within his opponent's guard. Mana working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Vick preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Vick wants to get back to his feet but Mana is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Mana lands a couple of digs. Vick looking to hit a scissor sweep but Mana is one step ahead there. Mana not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Mana working some strikes from top position. Mana trying to control the position from guard on top but Vick is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Mana drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Vick manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Mana has Vick in his guard. Mana looks gassed! Mana not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Vick has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Mana clinches up with Vick and pushes him back against the cage.

Vick lands with a slapping head kick. Vick shoots for a takedown but Mana saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Vick instigates a clinch. Vick prevents the takedown attempt.

Mana fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Vick sprawls well initially but Mana persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Mana wants to free his trapped foot but Vick is holding on for dear life with his legs. Vick is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Mana's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Mana's back! Vick working for the choke. Mana trying to control the hands but Vick won't let him. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Mike Mana will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
Mana closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Vick is trying to get back to full guard. Mana controlling the action here. Vick tries to get to full guard but Mana has control of the leg. Vick tries to kick Mana off but Mana keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Mana passes into side control, despite Vick's attempt to control the position.
Mana stands up and we're back to a striking position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mana misses with a takedown and Vick moves into the clinch. Vick lands an elbow inside. Mana escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Vick feints and as Mana raises his hands in defense, Vick changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Mana is on top in guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Mana wants to control from the top but Vick keeps moving. Mana drops back, looking for a kneebar! Vick looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Vick looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Vick! Vick is chipping away with strikes.

Mana is looking to get back to his feet here but Vick is keeping cool and he's managed to take Mana's back. Mana looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mana breaks Vick's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mana is stalling in the full guard. Mana passes Vick's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Mana is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Vick is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment. Vick manages to escape and get back to his feet! Vick tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Vick scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Mana has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Vick is working away from the top position though. Vick tries to pass the half guard into mount. Mana knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Scott Vick has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Scott Vick. I have no idea who won that fight. Scheiser is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Hoffman drags the fight down to the ground.

Hoffman lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Scheiser! A nice elbow there by Hoffman. Hoffman is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Scheiser is surviving well by controlling Hoffman's body position as best he can. Hoffman controlling the position easily from mount. Hoffman lands a big shot there that rocks Scheiser but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Hoffman seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Scheiser does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Scheiser makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Scheiser. Hoffman sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Scheiser's guard. Hoffman not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Scheiser moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Hoffman with a flurry of punches that miss. Scheiser is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Hoffman wants to control from the top but Scheiser keeps moving. Bobby Hoffman overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Hoffman looking to sit in guard and control but Scheiser gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bobby Hoffman dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!
Hoffman misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Scheiser pivots, looking for a leg kick but Hoffman is out of range and Scheiser settles back down. Scheiser stuffs the takedown. Scheiser clinches. Scheiser blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Hoffman is fighting off a takedown attempt but Scheiser is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Hoffman to the mat. Hoffman regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Scheiser wants to control from the top but Hoffman keeps moving. Scheiser slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Hoffman keeping moving, preventing Scheiser from controlling successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hoffman tries to land a sweep but no joy. Scheiser wants to pass the guard but Hoffman is keeping the position. Hoffman wants to get back to his feet but Scheiser is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Scheiser tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Hoffman counters by moving into the clinch. Hoffman breaks the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Hoffman closes the distance and clinches. Hoffman drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Scheiser gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Hoffman clinches up with Scheiser and pushes him back against the cage. Hoffman breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Hoffman throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Hoffman swinging wilding here.

and Scheiser counters with a single leg into guard. Hoffman didn't expect that. Scheiser preventing the sweep. Hoffman trying to control the position.

Scheiser is trying to control the action in half guard but Hoffman is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Devlin shoots in but no luck this time. RODRIGUEZ looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Nice takedown defense from RODRIGUEZ. No joy for Devlin on that attempt. RODRIGUEZ throws a right and a left that both miss. Devlin misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nick Devlin. That's going to take a lot out of him. RODRIGUEZ misses with an uppercut. Devlin saw that one coming. Devlin throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around RODRIGUEZ's waist but RODRIGUEZ gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Devlin off to one side. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Silva shoots in for a double leg but Yamato sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Nice sprawl there from Yamato as Silva shoots in. Yamato swivels though and keeps the full guard. Yamato lands a couple of shots from the bottom.
