The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jacare Souza gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Melkonian holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Melkonian has picked Jacare Souza up - he's going for a ride! Melkonian dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Melkonian throwing shots but Jacare Souza is blocking nicely. Melkonian is thwarting Jacare Souza's attempts to control the position. Well, if Melkonian is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

A shot to the liver by Silva. Beautiful body shot. A telegraphed right hand from Colombo misses the target. Silva moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Colombo tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Colombo tries to close the distance and clinch but Silva swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Colombo throws a big overhand right that connects, sending Silva tumbling to the canvas!

He's pushed Wilko's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Longshank throws a nice outside leg kick. Longshank lands a left and a right that send Wilko crashing to the mat, dazed. Longshank thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
It looks like Myles Wilko has been cut. We've been hearing reports that Wilko has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Wilko throws a low kick but it's checked well by Longshank. Longshank scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Longshank lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Wilko backs up against the cage.
