Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Martez Cortega! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, George Pierre Hennard! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Chris Downing and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hennard with a lazy takedown attempt and Cortega counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Hennard is lucky that one didn't land flush. A combination from Cortega does no damage. Cortega throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Cortega throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Hennard. Cortega gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily enabling Hennard to counter with a crisp jab. No luck for Hennard with that takedown attempt. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Cortega rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Hennard moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Cortega misses with a combination
and Hennard counters with a nice double leg into side control. Cortega won't be happy with that. Hennard wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Cortega, who protects the arm well. Cortega manages to get back to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hennard is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Cortega is trying to control but can't.
Cortega is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Hennard's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Hennard's back! Cortega controlling from the back. Hennard tries to roll but Cortega sticks to his back.

A lull in the action here.
We're going to have a standup here because Martez Cortega wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Cortega misses with a right hand and Hennard counters with a nice double leg into side control. Cortega won't be happy with that. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Cortega tries to get back to half guard but can't. Cortega is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at The Cave Fighting Team, so we'll see if he gets out of it. Hennard is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Cortega has escaped the position, nice work there. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cortega is looking to reverse the position. Hennard tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Hennard has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Cortega is not content to let Hennard control the position. You can see the frustration on Cortega's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Hennard goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Cortega rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Hennard's guard! Nice work there by Cortega! Cortega gets to his feet - Hennard follows without any prompting.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hennard looks for a takedown but Cortega sprawls well. Martez Cortega has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of George Pierre Hennard. Cortega forces Hennard back against the cage and clinches. Cortega escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Hennard shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Hennard was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Cortega is trying to get back to his feet. Hennard trying to control the position but Cortega is working away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Martez Cortega will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Hennard changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Cortega tries to avoid it but Hennard manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Cortega to the ground. Cortega escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Cortega just misses with a punch to the body.
Hennard fails to land the takedown. Hennard slips under a jab from Cortega. Cortega throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Cortega misses with a double jab.

enabling Hennard to counter with a crisp jab. Hennard fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Cortega sprawls well initially but Hennard persists and gets the takedown into half guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Hennard seems to be working for a kimura but Cortega defends the submission attempt. Hennard is looking for a kimura but Cortega is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Hennard to get the leverage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hennard is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Hennard is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Cortega defends it well. Cortega is looking to escape. Hennard stalling away here and it's allowed Cortega to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Cortega keeping moving, preventing Hennard from controlling successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cortega wants to get back to his feet but Hennard is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Hennard trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Hennard trying to control but Cortega is working from the bottom. Hennard might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Cortega haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Hennard wants to pass the guard but Cortega is keeping the position.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by George Pierre Hennard. Cortega wants to clinch up but Hennard keeps it at a distance. Martez Cortega is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Cortega throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Cortega tries to clinch but Hennard is having none of it. Cortega closes the distance and pushes Hennard back into the cage. Cortega breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Cortega wants to clinch and Hennard connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Cortega lands a right hook to the body.

and Hennard counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Cortega! Cortega wants to get back to his feet but Hennard drags him back down. Hennard is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Cortega is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Hennard is trying to get an arm triangle but Cortega is defending well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. This has been an exciting period of action! Hennard is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Cortega looks calm but he's in trouble here. Hennard gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Cortega is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Hennard lets go of the hold and Cortega can pop his arm back in it's socket.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bass closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Rodriguez did well to prevent Bass getting side control. Bass wants to pass the guard but Rodriguez is defending well. Rodriguez is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Bass pulls his head out easily. Bass with the ground and pound but Rodriguez uses the opportunity to regain guard. Bass has gone for a leg lock! Rodriguez slips out almost immediately though and dives into Bass's guard. Bass wants to sweep here but Rodriguez controlling him for the moment. Rodriguez really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Rodriguez trying to control the position from guard on top but Bass is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Bass has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Bass holds on and takes a little breather. Bass looking for a guillotine here but Rodriguez defends easily.

He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Rodriguez works his way back into a safe position though. Bass managing to control the position. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Bass preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Bass looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Rodriguez postures up in Bass's guard and throws a big left but Bass blocks it.

Bass lands a glancing blow to the side of Rodriguez's head. Bass pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Rodriguez back to the cage. Bass follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Rodriguez is rocked! Bass fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Rodriguez, pushing him back against the cage. Oh Rodriguez is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! This has been an exciting period of action! Rodriguez tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Rodriguez seems to have got his legs back now. Rodriguez is trying to pull guard but Bass turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ricardo Rodriguez. That's going to take a lot out of him. Bass lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Rodriguez jumps guard.
Bass controlling from the top position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Bass throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Rodriguez works some decent striking defense from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Teddy Bass dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Bass closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Bass pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Rodriguez has his takedown stuffed and Bass counters with a good, hard body kick but Rodriguez shrugs it off. Bass scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Bass scores with a jab. Bass thows a body kick. Rodriguez tries to catch it but that hurt him. Bass connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Rodriguez's hands. Bass throws a hook to the side of Rodriguez's head but Rodriguez sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Bass tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. A chopping leg kick lands by Bass. Teddy Bass seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Bass throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Rodriguez throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Rodriguez with a poor takedown and Bass cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Rodriguez shoots and misses and Bass counters with a left and a right... And another left! Rodriguez is down! He's done! The ref dives in to save him and that's the end of the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Teddy Bass! A relieved looking Teddy Bass thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kailea moves out of range as Yamokivic strikes. Yamokivic catches Kailea with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Yamokivic defending well as Kailea loads up on a big left hand. Yamokivic cracks Kailea with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
It looks like Rocco Kailea has been cut. Yamokivic misses with a hook. Yamokivic fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Kailea has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Yamokivic pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Kailea bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Yamokivic's head. Decent striking displayed by Yamokivic there. Yamokivic closes the distance and lands a one-two.

Yamokivic will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Kailea gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Yamokivic is looking to control Kailea's arms but Kailea gets an underhook and turns him. Now Yamokivic has his back to the cage. Yamokivic on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Moco shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Chandler connects with a single shot there. Chandler looks to land a combination but Moco avoids it well. Chandler throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Tycoon is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Taylor defends well. My spies in Ballas Only inform me that Taylor has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends! This has been an exciting period of action! Tycoon is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Tycoon has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Rivfader is now in Overeem's guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Rivfader stands and throws Overeem's legs to the side, diving into side control. Overeem is looking for a sweep. Rivfader throws a strike aimed at the side of Overeem's head but Overeem avoids it well. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Overeem is not content to let Rivfader control the position. Rivfader thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Rivfader shoots in for a double leg but Overeem sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Rivfader throws a jab but it's blocked by Overeem. Overeem lands a head kick. Rivfader smiles back at him and beckons him forward. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Rivfader is defended easily by Overeem. Rivfader closes the distance and clinches up with Overeem, looking for a takedown. Rivfader pushes Overeem against the cage but Overeem circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Overeem throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

Alistair Overeem is winning the standup battle so far. Both fighters are breathing heavily. An inside leg kick lands from Rivfader. Rivfader is trying hard to land a takedown here. Overeem sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Overeem lands a high kick!

Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Alistair Overeem is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Rivfader throws a hook but Overeem avoids it easily. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Rivfader shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Overeem pinned against the cage. Overeem gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Rivfader fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Overeem lands with a nice body punch. Overeem throws a head kick that misses. Rivfader shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Rivfader is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Overeem defends it well. Overeem regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Rivfader.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rivfader is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Rivfader has gone for a leg lock! Overeem slips out almost immediately though and dives into Rivfader's guard. Overeem stopping the sweep attempt from Rivfader.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rivfader wants to stand but Overeem is controlling the position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Eirik Rivfader. I think Rivfader has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Druff bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Nash's head.
It looks like Brutus Nash has been cut. Druff's corner calls for a 1-2. Druff obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Nash closes the distance and clinches up with Druff, looking for a takedown. Nash pushes Druff against the cage but Druff circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Nash takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Druff misses with an uppercut. Nash saw that one coming. Nash lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Nash with a lazy takedown attempt and Druff counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Nash waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Druff. Druff tries to clinch but Nash is having none of it. Druff looks to clinch and Nash decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Druff's guard. Nash must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Nash has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Druff is proving hard to escape from. Druff is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Nash looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Nash distracts Druff with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Nash wants to control from the top but Druff keeps moving. Nash controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Nash working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Nash throws a strike but Druff rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Druff controls from within his opponent's guard. Nash working for submissions but it's allowed Druff to get to half guard.
Druff is trying to work for a kimura but Nash is defending well.
Nash is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Druff's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Druff's back!

A slow jab from Nash misses its intended target. Druff seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym. Druff scores with a one two! Nash had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Druff throws a hook but Nash avoids it easily. Druff throws a hook to the side of Nash's head but Nash sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Nash scores with a jab to the head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Druff dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Dan Druff seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nash lands a nice shot that snaps Druff's head back.
A telegraphed right hand from Druff misses the target. Druff throws a jab when Nash was well out of range. Nash lands with a massive overhand right! Stick a fork in Druff - he's out cold! Ermm... I think I just mixed my metaphors but yeah... That was a nice KO! Big win for Nash!
