The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bergmann fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Bergmann looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Bergmann is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Rebel has managed to free his arm - good work. Bergmann looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Rebel with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Bergmann lands with a punch from half guard. Bergmann wants to work for an arm triangle but Rebel is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Bergmann in particular looking to stall.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bergmann is looking for a kimura but Rebel is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Bergmann to get the leverage. Bergmann keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Bergmann drops an elbow to the side of Rebel's head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bergmann has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Bergmann is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Rebel can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Bergmann trying to control but he's not successful this time. Bergmann is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Rebel has managed to escape the submission attempt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bergmann is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Rebel is surviving well by controlling Bergmann's body position as best he can. Rebel is bucking up trying to escape but Bergmann cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Bergmann is in the full mount, landing strikes. Bergmann working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Bergmann working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Bergmann working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Rebel turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Bergmann off and cradles Rebel's limp body as Bergmann celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Onkel Bergmann! In his post fight interview, Onkel Bergmann started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! O Doherty throws a lazy uppercut
and Galati counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Galati. Galati pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. O Doherty fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Galati manages to avoid it. O Doherty keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. O Doherty just misses with a punch to the body.

and O Doherty takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. O Doherty throws a big shot that misses. O Doherty throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
It looks like Pavel Galati has been cut. O Doherty takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Galati closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Galati drops to a knee looking for a takedown but O Doherty gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Galati is trying to pull guard but O Doherty turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pavel Galati. That's going to take a lot out of him. O Doherty lands a right hand.

Come on Vanaja, up you get! A bone on bone clash there as Vanaja blocks the leg kick.

Fed throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Emelianenko dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Fed misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Fed looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Fed misses with a low kick. Fed takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
It looks like Roman Fed has been cut. A punch combination from Fed misses. Emelianenko dips to his left and cracks Fed with an uppercut! Nice uppercut lands for Emelianenko. That snapped Fed's head back.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Emelianenko punishes Fed's body with a nice straight punch. Emelianenko takes a swing at Fed's ribcage but misses. A slow jab from Fed misses its intended target. Emelianenko misses with a looping right. Fed throws a series of strikes that have Emelianenko backpedaling.
Emelianenko defending well as Fed loads up on a big left hand. Emelianenko thuds his shin into the meat of Fed's side.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fed shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Fed on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Fed is breathing heavily. Emelianenko punishes Fed's body with a nice straight punch. Emelianenko throws out a powerful jab. Fed fails to land with a series of punches.
Fed gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Emelianenko cracks Fed with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Fed looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Emelianenko finish him?

Oh Fed is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Emelianenko thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Fed if he has to take too many more of those.
Fed seems to have got his legs back now. Fed throws a combination that misses and Emelianenko counters with a crisp right hand that drops Fed! Emelianenko lets Fed back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
Roman Fed's cut is getting worse. Emelianenko sees an opening and throws a straight punch right through Fed's defenses. It connects perfectly with Fed's jaw and knocks him out cold! Wow - that's a contender for knockout of the year - absolutely brutal!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pesci shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Clay as he jumps to the side. Pesci with a poor takedown and Clay connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Pesci fails with a takedown attempt. Tyson Clay has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nicky Pesci. Pesci tries to clinch and Clay counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Pesci fails with the takedown and Clay counters with a single leg into guard. Pesci didn't expect that. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Pesci will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Pesci trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Pesci is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Clay defends well. Clay not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Clay lands a couple of digs. Clay postures up and lands a big shot to Pesci's brow. Pesci throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

Clay has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Pesci throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Pesci is trying to keep Clay in close.

Ascanio avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Altemio Sanchez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Sanchez shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Ascanio pinned against the cage. Ascanio gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Sanchez throws a big shot that misses. No luck with that takedown attempt from Sanchez. Ascanio takes one on the chin but seems OK.
