1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Andre Santos! The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Emerson Jorge and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Santos circles away from the clinch attempt and Santos counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Santos. Formiga tries to land a sweep but no joy. Santos seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Santos is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Formiga is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Formiga looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Formiga is trying to control Santos's posture but Santos avoids it. Santos has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Formiga throws a body kick that misses. Santos looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Santos slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Santos showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Formiga trying to keep a closed guard but Santos is proving a slippery customer.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Santos passes Formiga's left leg - he's now in half guard. Formiga really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Santos slaps away a takedown attempt from Formiga, before circling back to the center of the mat. Santos pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Formiga tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Santos paws at him with a jab and circles away. Santos pushes Formiga up against the cage in a clinch. Santos tries for a takedown. No joy.
Santos is trying to break free. Santos is trying to push Formiga away but Formiga has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Formiga wants to take the fight to the mat but Santos manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Formiga tries to score a body lock takedown but Santos shows good agility there to stay on his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bruno Formiga. That's going to take a lot out of him. Santos has clasped his hands together around Formiga's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Formiga tries to improve position but can't. Santos remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Silva gets a clinch. Silva is struggling to control the position. Silva is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Corkhill can't fight it off and eventually Silva manages to take the fight to the floor. Corkhill looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Silva lands a couple of elbows. Silva trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Silva avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Silva slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Corkhill tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Silva wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Silva takes a little break here. Corkhill wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Silva advances to full mount. Silva really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Corkhill. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Corkhill tries to reverse the position but Silva maintains control.

He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Corkhill! Silva trying to control but he's not successful this time. Silva is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Corkhill to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Corkhill shrugs it off. Silva with the ground and pound from mount. Silva landing strikes from the mount and Corkhill is in trouble! Silva with shots to the head and body - Corkhill looks very uncomfortable down there. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Corkhill is looking to get to half guard. Silva jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Corkhill is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Corkhill and Silva has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Corkhill is looking for a triangle but Silva pushes his legs off easily.
Silva tries to free his leg and advance position but Corkhill is retaining full guard. Corkhill has his foot on Silva's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Silva works his way back into a safe position though. Corkhill working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Silva doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Silva manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Silva lands a couple of decent looking shots. Corkhill looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Armando works the jab nicely. Gracie fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Armando connects with a looping right hand.
Armando jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.

Gracie shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Armando defends it nicely. Gracie tries to score a power double leg takedown but Armando sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Gracie somewhat. Andre Armando has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gustavo Gracie. Gracie walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Armando paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Armando gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Gracie stands up and waves to Armando to follow him. Armando is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

Armando throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Gracie on the side of the head. Armando throws a shot to the body.

Gracie shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Armando manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Armando wants to get back to his feet but Gracie passes into half guard.
Gracie passes to full mount! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Gracie stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet. Armando is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. Gracie takes one to the side of the head.

Armando lands with a hook. Gracie tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Gracie takes one on the button. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Armando, as that shot connected.
Armando looks to land a combination. Gracie sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Armando fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Armando is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Gracie misses with a takedown and Armando counters with a left and a right that stings Gracie. Andre Armando seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Gracie tries to move into range but Armando moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Gustavo Gracie is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Armando lands a nice shot that snaps Gracie's head back.

Armando gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Gracie walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

A left lands for Armando. Armando paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Armando throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Gracie drives through with a takedown into Armando's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Gracie sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Armando's guard. Gracie perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Gracie is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Gracie controlling the position easily from mount. Gracie's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Armando tries to hold on but Gracie postures up. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Gracie mounts Armando! Really nice guard pass there! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Armando will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Armando looking to sweep here. No luck so far. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Gracie controlling from the top position.

Armando will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Gracie up against the cage. Gracie looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Armando lands a right hand that snaps the head of Gracie backwards. Armando gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Gracie.

Gracie is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Armando is keeping busy. Armando digs a right hand underneath Gracie's ribcage. Gracie let out a lung full of air as it connected. Good body shot from Armando.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Armando. Armando's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Andre Armando is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Armando connects with a single shot there. Gracie shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Gracie looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Andre Armando has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gustavo Gracie. Gracie changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Armando tries to avoid it but Gracie manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Armando to the ground. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Armando scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Armando lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Gracie backs up against the cage.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Gracie looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Gracie is trying to control the action in half guard but Armando is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Armando wants to control but Gracie is keeping busy and won't allow it. Gracie with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Armando wants to control but Gracie is keeping busy.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. Naruto gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Larson counters with a body kick that stops Naruto in his tracks momentarily. Larson throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Larson fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Naruto. Naruto shoots and misses and Larson counters with a good low kick that Naruto was not able to check. Larson throws a leg kick that misses. Larson throws a head kick that misses.

That will keep Naruto thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! Naruto checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. A big left from Larson misses. Naruto misses with a takedown attempt and Larson counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Naruto shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Larson napping and manages to drive through into side control! Naruto is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Larson knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Larson struggling a bit here. Naruto swings around for an armbar but Larson sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Naruto's guard. Naruto looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Naruto has his foot on Larson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Larson works his way back into a safe position though. Larson sitting in guard here, content to control.

Larson is looking to pass into half guard but Naruto pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Naruto is in guard. Larson controlling the position. Naruto stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Larson swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Larson throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. Naruto fails with the takedown and Larson finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body. Naruto with a lazy takedown attempt and Larson counters with a nice leg kick. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Larson misses with a looping right. Larson throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Naruto sees it coming and avoids it easily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Hatake Naruto will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Naruto will be looking to protect his midsection after taking some solid kicks to the body. Naruto throws a big shot that misses. Larson does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Naruto shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Larson counters with a solid body kick. Hatake Naruto is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Larson throws a head kick that misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Naruto looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Larson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Larson is concentrating on defense, preventing Naruto from advancing position. Larson is trying to control but can't.
Naruto uses his free foot to push down on Larson's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Larson. Larson is desperately trying to improve his position but Naruto has a good base and remains in mount. Naruto wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it. That's two minutes gone in the round. Naruto swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Larson is now in Naruto's guard. A big mistake from Naruto there, giving up the dominant position! Larson engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Larson avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Larson is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hatake Naruto overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Jerry Larson hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Larson tries to score with a low kick but Naruto moves his leg out of the way. Larson misses with a low kick as Naruto jumps back.
