The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch lands to the side of Silver 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Johnny Silver seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Silver lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Silver just misses with a punch to the body.
Low takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Silver works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Silver sizes up Low with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Low takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Silver checks a low kick from Low.
A decent looking cross lands there for Silver.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Low takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Thurman shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Quint sprawls well. Quint wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Thurman gets slowly back to his feet.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Quint has his foot on Thurman's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Thurman works his way back into a safe position though.

We've been hearing good reports from Thurman's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
