The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bagcal tries to close the distance and clinch up but Tavares swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Samvesu's coach down at The Cave Fighting Team was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Samvesu's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to PJ Harvey.

Both fighters are only really looking to counter, so after a good 30 seconds of circling eachother endlessly, the referee has stepped in and told them both to be more aggressive.
Cortez bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Down's head backwards.
Down fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Down. Cortez shrugs it off though.
Down shoots for a takedown but Cortez saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Cortez seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.

Cortez looks to land a right hand but Down moved out of range.

and Cortez counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Down stands and throws Cortez's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Down swings around for an armbar but Cortez sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Down's guard.

Down is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Ben Bitag.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Downer throws a head kick but Elbe moves out of range.
Elbe shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Downer but Downer pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Downer cracks Elbe with an open hand slap.
Elbe throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Downer's waist but Downer gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Elbe off to one side.
Downer misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Downer fails with an attempt to clinch.

Downer gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Downer is pressed up against the cage. Elbe has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Downer down to the mat. Downer avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
