1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Indigo Starseed! The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Jorge Garcia and Lou da Vinci.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hemmo just misses with a punch to the body.
Starseed shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hemmo pinned against the cage. Hemmo gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Hemmo is trying hard to land a takedown here. Starseed sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Starseed lands with a good body shot. No luck with that takedown attempt from Starseed. Hemmo shoots in for a double leg but Starseed sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Paini Hemmo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hemmo shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Starseed counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Paini Hemmo. That's going to take a lot out of him. Hemmo with a poor takedown and Starseed counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Starseed thows a body shot but no joy. Hemmo throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Hemmo. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Hemmo wants to lay and pray for a moment but Starseed keeps working.
That's one minute gone in the round. Starseed is looking to reverse the position. Starseed is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Hemmo has just dragged him back down to the mat. Hemmo looks up at the clock and then as Starseed takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Hemmo smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Hemmo tries to score with some ground and pound. Starseed controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Hemmo is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Starseed will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Hemmo working away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hemmo grinds an elbow into Starseed's temple. You can see the frustration on Starseed's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Starseed taking a bit of punishment here - Hemmo scoring with strikes. Starseed takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Hemmo is looking to take a break and control but Starseed is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Hemmo content to control the pace. Hemmo has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Starseed not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Hemmo distracts Starseed with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Hemmo is looking to work some ground and pound but Starseed has wrist control. Hemmo wants to control from the top but Starseed keeps moving. Starseed wants to control but Hemmo passes easily into half guard.

Hemmo thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Starseed's head. Starseed taking some punishment here, with Hemmo in his half guard. Starseed misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Hemmo is defended easily by Starseed. Hemmo changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Starseed tries to avoid it but Hemmo manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Starseed to the ground. Starseed escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Starseed shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Hemmo but Hemmo pushes him off and we're back to square one. Hemmo looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Paini Hemmo. That's going to take a lot out of him. Hemmo shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Hemmo was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Hemmo working the head with strikes.

Hemmo sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Starseed is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Hemmo's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Starseed takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Hemmo has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Starseed avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Hemmo. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Hemmo connects with a nice short shot to Starseed's temple. Indigo Starseed has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Hemmo tries to pass the half guard into mount. Starseed knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
And that's the end of the fight! Paini Hemmo showed his dominance in that final round. Well Hemmo has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones gets caught napping as Shaqir dives in and scores a takedown. Jones manages to retain guard. Shaqir gets to his feet - Jones follows without any prompting. Shaqir takes the fight into the clinch. Shaqir tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Jones's elbow. Shaqir content to slow the pace in the clinch.

Shaqir tries to land a sweep but no joy. Jones working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Jones working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Jones is fighting to break Shaqir's control of his arms but Shaqir is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Shaqir utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Jones throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Jones with a flurry of punches that miss. Shaqir has his foot on Jones's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jones works his way back into a safe position though. Jones tries to free his leg and advance position but Shaqir is retaining full guard. Jones scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Shaqir looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Jones has picked Shaqir up and slammed him! Shaqir can't keep hold of the triangle and Jones manages to pass to side control! Jones looks up at the clock and then as Shaqir takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Jones smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Shaqir parries the strikes from Jones easily there. Jones is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Shaqir to escape.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Shaqir really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jones. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Shaqir takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. The ground and pound from Jones seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Shaqir can do anything to dispel that myth. Jones in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Jones tries to stand but Shaqir is controlling his head. Shaqir wants to get back to his feet.

That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Shaqir checks a leg kick.

1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, George Wayne! The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Steve Montenegro and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wayne does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Wayne looks to score with a jab to the body but Yan is just out of range. Wayne comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. A big left from Wayne misses. The fighters circling - Wayne throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Yan takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Wayne misses with a low kick. Yan throws a right and a left that Wayne avoids nicely.
