On his way into the cage it seems that Rich Willans has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Rich Willans seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Eddy circles away from the clinch attempt.
Rich Willans seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Eddy throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Willans tries to clinch up but Eddy circles away and keeps his distance. Eddy gets a clinch. Willans tries to land a knee to the head but Eddy blocks with his arms.
Eddy drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Willans as Eddy tries to tie him up. Willans is trying to maintain a safe position but Eddy gets an underhook and turns Willans into the cage. Willans tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Willans is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Willans scores a nice knee to the body.

It looks like Nelson Eddy has been cut. Willans throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Eddy blocks it with crossed arms. Willans tries a knee to the head but Eddy blocks it.

Willans will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Eddy up against the cage. Willans lands an elbow inside. Willans tries a knee to the head but Eddy blocks it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Eddy tries to circle away but Willans has him pinned against the cage. Eddy goes for a takedown attempt but Willans pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Rich Willans has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nelson Eddy. Willans tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Eddy counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Eddy prevents Willans from getting back to his feet. Willans on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Willans tries to get out of the position. Eddy controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Willans knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Eddy on the ground. Eddy throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Willans works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Eddy throws a big right hand that misses. Willans definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Willans can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Eddy controls the pace. Eddy throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Eddy thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Eddy postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Eddy slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Willans pushes Eddy away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Eddy gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Eddy is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Willans's shoulder. That is not cool. Eddy throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Willans taking a bit of punishment here - Eddy scoring with strikes. Eddy is putting a hurting on Willans here, landing some big shots from side control. Eddy taking a breather here. Eddy has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Eddy misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Willans dodges the ground and pound from Eddy. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Rich Willans will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Nelson Eddy's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Willans tries to clinch but Eddy is having none of it. Eddy tries to work over Willans's front leg with a kick but Willans checks it. Eddy fails with the takedown. Willans ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Eddy walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Willans checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Willans tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Eddy manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Willans tries to clinch but Eddy is having none of it. Willans dodges the punch combination from Eddy.
Willans closes the distance but Eddy moves to the side and Eddy counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Eddy fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Willans avoids it really well and circles away. Eddy closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Willans putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Eddy in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body. A knee to the head by Willans.

Willans tries to land knees in the clinch but Eddy avoids the damage to the body. Rich Willans has scored more points in the clinch so far. Willans stalling in the clinch but Eddy improves position. Willans lands an elbow just above Eddy 's eye. Eddy is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Willans is defending well for now.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Alexander shoots and misses and Masson counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Alexander with a lazy takedown attempt and Masson counters with a nice double leg into side control. Alexander won't be happy with that. Masson misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Masson working the ground and pound. Masson throws an elbow but Alexander slips to the side and avoids it well. Alexander is trying to control Masson's posture but Masson avoids it. Alexander is looking to reverse the position. Alexander regains half guard, as Masson was trying to land strikes. Alexander gets back to full guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Alexander escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Masson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Alexander will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Masson missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Masson trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Masson postures up in Alexander's guard and throws a big left but Alexander blocks it. Masson controlling from the top position. Masson trying to control but Alexander is working from the bottom. Alexander working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Masson. Alexander manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Masson manages to get himself to full guard.

Masson is fighting to maintain full guard but Alexander has managed to sneak the leg through. Alexander content to control rather than advance. Alexander prevents Masson from improving his position.

Masson won't allow Alexander to pass to mount. Alexander wants to control but Masson is keeping him busy. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Alexander is trying to work for a kimura but Masson is defending well.
Masson is looking to control Alexander's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Masson avoid being mounted?
That's four minutes gone in the round. Alexander wants to control but Masson is keeping him busy. Alexander is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Masson is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Masson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Masson should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Alexander sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Masson defending well though. Masson keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Alexander trying to mount his opponent but Masson defends it. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Alexander is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Masson sees it coming and defends easily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Masson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Alexander paws at him with a jab and circles away. Masson has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Alexander is landing a low percentage of strikes. Masson feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Alexander's calf. Masson is looking to clinch but Alexander is avoiding it.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A slow jab from Bartell misses its intended target. Mizuno throws a lazy body kick and Bartell counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Mizuno looks to land a body kick but Bartell moved away. Mizuno moves in looking to clinch but Bartell pushes him off. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Bartell fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Mizuno moves away from the strike by Bartell. Bartell steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Mizuno. Bartell clinches with his opponent.

Bartell is rocked! Bartell misses with a wild body shot. Bartell just misses with a punch to the body.
Mizuno feints a jab and as Bartell dips his head, Mizuno unleashes a brutal head kick that catches Bartell right on the jaw! Timbeeer! Bartell falls backwards in slow motion, only propped up by the cage! Mizuno smiles a psychotic smile as he stares down his unconscious opponent. That is a scary man.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Jun Mizuno! Jun Mizuno really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Elite Canadian Threads logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Caisse to score an easy takedown into full guard. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Caisse slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Johnson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Caisse can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Caisse trying to control but Johnson is working from the bottom. Caisse postures up and lands a big shot to Johnson's brow. Caisse lands a couple of decent looking shots. Johnson wants to sweep but no luck. Caisse passes Johnson's right leg, so he's now in half guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Caisse in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Johnson tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Caisse!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Jean Caisse! In his post fight interview, Jean Caisse started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.

Machida drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Anstey manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Machida has Anstey in his guard. Anstey gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Anstey blocks a head kick by Machida.
Anstey throws a sloppy head kick and Machida moves out of range easily. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Anstey misses with a two punch combination.
Machida tries to clinch there but Anstey circles away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Corwin Anstey dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Anstey decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Anstey wants to stand up but Machida has a hold of him and won't allow it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Machida is trying to maintain the position but Anstey is very close to passing his half guard. Machida moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Anstey trying to stand up but can't free himself from Machida's guard. Machida controlling Anstey's posture. Machida is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Anstey defends well. Anstey being controlled here momentarily.
