3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Gilbert Smith! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Travis Milnes! The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Sandra Marshall and Michael Johnstone.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smith clinches up against the cage. Milnes is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Milnes is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Milnes tries a knee to the head but Smith blocks it.
Milnes breaks from the clinch.
Milnes has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Smith drives through with a takedown into guard. Smith stays in close to Milnes's body and controls the position. Smith working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Milnes's head. Smith controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
We're going to have a standup here because Gilbert Smith wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Milnes tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Smith moves into the clinch. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Smith successfully pulls guard.
Smith lands an upkick as Milnes stands over him. Smith looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
That's one minute gone in the round. Smith manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Milnes manages to get himself to full guard.
Smith slips nicely into half guard. Smith is looking to pass Milnes's guard but actually Milnes recovers to full guard. Milnes being controlled here, momentarily. Smith stands up from Milnes's guard - Smith perhaps looking for a knockout. Milnes closes the distance and lands a one-two.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Milnes shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Smith eats them both and turns towards Milnes to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Milnes gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Smith works a leg free and moves into half guard. Still in half guard, Smith seems content to control. Smith seems to be working for a kimura but Milnes defends the submission attempt. Milnes is looking to escape. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Smith controlling the action here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Smith postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Milnes to stand up. Milnes looks winded! Milnes tries to close the distance and clinch but Smith swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Smith shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Milnes manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Smith might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Milnes can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Smith controls the pace. Milnes has momentary wrist control but Smith slips an elbow through the middle. Smith won't allow Milnes to get back to his feet. Smith decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Milnes, up you get! Milnes tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Smith moves into the clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Milnes tries a knee to the head but Smith blocks it.
Milnes is defending well against a takedown attempt. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Milnes throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Smith blocks it with crossed arms. Milnes on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Smith escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Milnes tries to close the distance and clinch but Smith swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Milnes tries to sprawl but Smith drives through with a takedown into half guard. Smith performing his best blanket impression for a moment. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Gilbert Smith dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Horrible takedown by Smith or perhaps it was just good defense by Milnes which made him look bad. Milnes throws a right and a left that Smith avoids nicely. Milnes tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Smith paws at him with a jab and circles away. Smith misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Smith takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Milnes fails in his attempt to clinch. Smith looking to score a takedown here. Milnes is defending well but Smith drives through and ends up in Milnes's guard. Smith content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Smith trying to control the position from guard on top but Milnes is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Smith stands up from Milnes's guard - Smith perhaps looking for a knockout.
That's one minute gone in the round. Smith shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Milnes defends it nicely. Smith scores with a takedown into Milnes's guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Smith won't allow Milnes to get back to his feet. Smith trying to control but Milnes is working from the bottom. Smith is standing up over Milnes. Milnes looks to escape but Smith dives into side control.
Smith scoring with punches from side control. Milnes really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Smith. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Smith swings around for an armbar but Milnes sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Smith's guard. Milnes must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Milnes throws a strike but Smith rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Smith slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Milnes seems a little lost for a moment, as Smith dominates the positioning. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Smith is putting a hurting on Milnes here, landing some big shots from side control. Milnes tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops. Smith has his arm under Milnes's chin here. Game over son! Smith squeezes tightly and Milnes is forced to tap out!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Gilbert Smith! A determined Gilbert Smith didn't want to dwell on this fight in his post fight interview. Instead he was more keen to state he wants a title shot. Let's see if he gets it! The defeated Travis Milnes had this to say: 'I'm sick of these rules and judges there ruining fights and fighters careers f*$? you guys.'.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No luck with that takedown attempt from Donovan. Joe Benedict seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Benedict throws a right hand that Donovan ducks under and follows up with a left that Donovan also avoids with ease. Benedict scores with a jab.
It looks like Omar Donovan has been cut. Benedict lands a big shot that drops Donovan! Can he finish him?
Donovan is rocked! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Benedict gets to his feet and stands over Donovan, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Donovan felt that one! Benedict unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Donovan from any more punishment!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No luck for Blower with that takedown attempt. Silva should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Blower shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Silva eats them both and turns towards Blower to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Silva fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Blower sprawls well initially but Silva persists and gets the takedown into half guard. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Blower is trying to control but can't.
Silva takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Blower is defending against the submission attempts here by Silva.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Silva in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Blower tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Silva!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Juutilainen dips to his left and cracks Belingon with an uppercut! That kick from Belingon tenderised Juutilainen's leg. Juutilainen is trying to keep his angry face on. Eino Juutilainen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Belingon shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Belingon showed some decent athleticism there. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Juutilainen wants to improve his position but Belingon is controlling well.
Juutilainen is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Belingon's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Belingon's back! Juutilainen struggling to land strikes to the head as Belingon covers up. Belingon knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Juutilainen on the ground. Volkov gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Hamilton to score an easy takedown into full guard. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Hamilton trying to control but Volkov is working from the bottom. Volkov is looking to stand up but Hamilton isn't so interested in that idea. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hamilton postures up in Volkov's guard and throws a big left but Volkov blocks it. Hamilton throwing strikes from guard but Volkov blocks nicely. Hamilton won't allow Volkov to get back to his feet. Hamilton slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Volkov thows a body shot but no joy. Hamilton feints and as Volkov raises his hands in defense, Hamilton changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Hamilton stands up over Volkov, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Hamilton lands a couple of elbows. That's one minute gone in the round. Volkov scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Hamilton tries to clinch up but Volkov circles away and keeps his distance. Volkov looks to land a right hand but Hamilton moved out of range. Volkov looks to land a left hand but Hamilton moved out of range nicely. Volkov swings for the body but Hamilton moves out of range.
Roman Volkov is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Excellent takedown into side control there by Hamilton. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Volkov takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Volkov pushes Hamilton away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Hamilton gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Matt Hamilton has got the better of the ground game so far. Volkov takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Hamilton landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Volkov takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Hamilton tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Hamilton works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Hamilton cracks Volkov with an elbow. That is naaassty. Hamilton working the ground and pound from side control. Hamilton landing a few strikes. Volkov is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Volkov wants to get back to his feet but Hamilton drags him back down. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Volkov takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Volkov is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Hamilton asserts his dominance and retains side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hamilton is working Volkov over with some ground and pound from side control. Hamilton works to advance to full mount. Volkov defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Hamilton landing shots from mount. Hamilton landing strikes from the mount and Volkov is in trouble!
Volkov is rocked! Hamilton lands with some strikes. Oh Volkov is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Hamilton has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Hamilton raining down shots from the mount! Hamilton cracks Volkov with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!

He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. De Leon looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Dylan! Submission of the night perhaps?
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Gwan Dylan! The defeated Cervantes De Leon had this to say: 'I'm gonna come back from this defeat, learn from it, and make sure I dont make the same mistakes twice. 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Micky Feck! The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Daniel Franklin and Peter Branson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gyu looks to score with a jab to the body but Feck is just out of range. Gyu throws a right and a left that Feck avoids nicely. A nice inside leg kick there by Feck. That's going to slow Gyu down. Feck takes a shot right to the bread basket. Gyu misses with a wild combination.
Feck has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight. Feck takes one to the chin there. A big right from Gyu misses. Gyu scores with a punch to the head. Gyu clobbers Feck with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Feck is rocked! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Gyu throws an overhand right that lands on Feck's shoulder, as Feck tries to avoid the shot. Jab, jab by Gyu - just one landing. Feck is still on wobbly legs! Can Gyu finish him? I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Gyu has cracked Feck with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Gyu lands another huge swinging hook and Feck tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Feck, before Gyu can land any more shots!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Lim Hyun Gyu! Lim Hyun Gyu decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.

It looks like Dwayne Hopkins has been cut. Hopkins changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Kahuna throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Hopkins counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Hopkins takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Hopkins rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Kahuna moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Kahuna lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Kahuna jabbing away but nothing is landing. Hopkins is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Kahuna's coach down at Elite Training Facility was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Kahuna's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. and Hopkins counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Hopkins is looking light on his feet compared to last time was saw him fight. Kahuna swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. A jab from Hopkins does it's job there. Hopkins looks to land a combination but Kahuna avoids it well. Kahuna misses with a hook. Kahuna waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Hopkins. Kahuna avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Kahuna might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Hopkins drops his hands momentarily and Kahuna takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Kahuna keeps the fight on the outside. Hopkins steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Kahuna. Hopkins on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Timo Kahuna seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kahuna throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Hopkins wants to clinch up but Kahuna keeps it at a distance. Kahuna dodges the punch combination from Hopkins.

And that's the end of the fight! Timo Kahuna comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Kahuna has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Askren shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Leigertwood is trying to defend but Askren finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Leigertwood trying to control from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ground and pound from Askren. Leigertwood is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Askren's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Askren's back! Askren trying to survive by controlling the hands. Askren is really stuck here.
Leigertwood looking for the choke from the back. We've been hearing good reports from Askren's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
