The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Grigorenko moves into range and clinches up with Kamura. Grigorenko tries to land a knee to the head but misses.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Grigorenko would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Grigorenko wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Kamura's closed guard. He's half up but Kamura has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Kamura pivots and extends the arm, Grigorenko falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Kamura! Well done that man!

Dionys clinches up with Sebia and pushes him back against the cage. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Sebia tries to clinch up but Dionys pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Sebia to the mat! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vera throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Rickenbacker v.2's waist but Rickenbacker v.2 gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Vera off to one side. The fight stays on the outside here - Rickenbacker v.2 looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Rickenbacker v.2 fails with an attempt to clinch.
A nice leg kick lands there from Rickenbacker v.2. Vera darts in looking for a takedown but Rickenbacker v.2 gets double underhooks and turns Vera into the cage. Vera tries to throw a body punch but Rickenbacker v.2 avoids it by throwing Vera back against the cage. Rickenbacker v.2 stalling in the clinch.

Rickenbacker v.2 shoots and misses and Vera counters with a three punch combo that has Rickenbacker v.2 backing up. Rickenbacker v.2 nods at Vera to acknowledge the strikes. Vera tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Rickenbacker v.2 swivels and escapes. Rickenbacker v.2 instigates a clinch. Vera manages to break the clinch.
Vera walks forward, straight into a front kick from Rickenbacker v.2. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Rickenbacker v.2 tries to close the distance and clinch up but Vera swats him away and circles back towards the center. Rickenbacker v.2 throws a wild body kick that Vera sees coming a mile off. Vera shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Rickenbacker v.2 pinned against the cage. Rickenbacker v.2 gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Rickenbacker v.2 tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Vera defends well and Rickenbacker v.2 ends up having to push Vera into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Horrible takedown by Vera or perhaps it was just good defense by Rickenbacker v.2 which made him look bad. Rickenbacker v.2 tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Nice body kick there by Rickenbacker v.2. Rickenbacker v.2 dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Vera. That did some damage! Rickenbacker v.2 stuffs the takedown attempt from Vera. Vera gets slowly back to his feet. Vera looks winded!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rickenbacker v.2 darts in trying to clinch and Vera counters with a three punch combo that has Rickenbacker v.2 backing up. Rickenbacker v.2 nods at Vera to acknowledge the strikes. Vera shoots and misses and Rickenbacker v.2 makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Some wild striking there from Rickenbacker v.2.
Rickenbacker v.2 tries to clinch but Vera is having none of it. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Rickenbacker v.2 throws a leg kick which misses Vera's front leg but catches the back leg as Vera tries to avoid it. Rickenbacker v.2 displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Vera. Rickenbacker v.2 throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Rickenbacker v.2 swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Rickenbacker v.2 leaves Vera with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Rickenbacker v.2 clinches. Rickenbacker v.2 is stalling here.

Kekalainen has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. Chulainn seems to have the measure of him in the clinch so far, so let's see if Kekalainen can turn it around. He's unloaded a big left hand that catches Kekalainen flush on the jaw and sends him tumbling to the canvas! Kekalainen is out cold! Chulainn holds back from landing any unnecessary shots to his unconscious opponent, as the referee reacts slowly to the situation. A brutal knockout and then some excellent sportsmanship - this guy is my new favorite fighter!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Davison tries for a takedown but Block circles away easily and Block counters with a single leg into guard. Davison didn't expect that. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Davison can do anything to dispel that myth. Davison working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Block. Davison is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Davison trying to control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Block accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Davison is on top in guard.
