Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, George Jones! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Bugio Maldon! The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Nard Betker and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones connects with a body shot that sends Maldon's belly button to the back. Jones bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Maldon's head backwards. Donk. Jones catches Maldon right on the button with a cross.
It looks like Bugio Maldon has been cut. Maldon takes one to the chin there. Jones throws a nice inside leg kick. Jones scores with a sloppy right hand. Maldon should have avoided that one. A solid leg kick lands there for Jones.
Jones is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Jones works Maldon's body with a nice hook. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Jones scores with a nice right hand.
Maldon fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Maldon shoots in looking for a takedown. Jones tries to sprawl out of it but Maldon keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Jones manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Maldon shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Jones as he avoids it easily. Maldon fails to land the takedown. George Jones has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bugio Maldon. Maldon misses the body punch and Jones connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Maldon is trying desperately to land a takedown but Jones is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Maldon. Jones connects with a body shot. Maldon shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Jones as he jumps to the side. Jones's jab looks to have found its range, popping Maldon under the eye. Good leg kick by Jones there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jones getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Bugio Maldon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jones getting the better of the striking in that exchange. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Jones keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Maldon misses with a combination
and Maldon takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Jones cracks Maldon with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Maldon tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Jones pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Maldon is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Worm closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Fredricks's guard. Fredricks working a defensive guard but Worm passes into half guard.
Worm is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Worm controlling the pace. It looks like Worm might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Worm wants to pass the guard but Fredricks is defending well. Worm drops an elbow to the side of Fredricks's head. Fredricks might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fredricks wants to get back to full guard. Worm seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Worm not landing any meaningful shots this time. Worm performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Fredricks avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Worm.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Loud Worm was stalling too much, according to the referee. Worm gets a takedown into half guard. Worm is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Fredricks sees it coming and defends easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Worm is taking a breather. Fredricks says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Fredricks wants to control but Worm passes into side.
Worm landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Fredricks wants to control but Worm postures up. Worm tries to move to mount but Fredricks blocks the move with his legs. Worm lands an elbow. Fredricks on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Fredricks tries to get out of the position. Fredricks is trying to control Worm's posture but Worm avoids it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here as Worm stalls from top position. Fredricks trying to control but Worm flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back! Worm controlling from the back.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Worm is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Worm gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Worm gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Worm apologises and we restart here on the feet.
Fredricks lands a nice hook to Worm's body. Worm takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Fredricks throws a looping overhand right but Worm ducks down to avoid it. Worm swats away the attempt to clinch by Fredricks. Fredricks throws a right and a left that both miss. John Fredricks seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Fredricks thows a body shot but no joy. Worm is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Fredricks's half guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Worm slows the pace down in half guard. Worm has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Loud Worm was stalling too much, according to the referee. Fredricks misses with a two punch combination.

The referee asks Worm politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Worm prefers to stall for the moment though. Worm working away. Worm lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Fredricks down.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. A lull in the action here as Worm stalls from top position. Worm working away. Loud Worm has got the better of the ground game so far. That's two minutes gone in the round. Fredricks struggling a bit here. Fredricks is being controlled here. Worm moves into full mount! Worm fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Fredricks tries to hold on but Worm pushes him away. Fredricks is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Worm is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Worm lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Fredricks defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Worm. Fredricks is trying desperately to improve position. Worm is in the full mount, landing strikes. Worm with the ground and pound from mount. Worm is working for a guillotine from mount but Fredricks frees his head quite easily.
Fredricks takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Worm controlling the position easily from mount. Fredricks is trying to reverse the position but instead Worm has taken his back - oops! Worm is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Fredricks has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Fredricks trying to control the hands but Worm won't let him. Worm controlling the position well here. Fredricks rolled but Worm kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.

Loud Worm showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
The fight stays on the outside here - Fredricks looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Worm circles away from the clinch attempt and Worm counters with a nice uppercut. Fredricks doesn't manage to clinch there - Worm circles away.
Fredricks pushes Worm up against the cage in a clinch. Worm is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Fredricks is defending well. Worm pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Worm shoots in and gets a takedown into Fredricks's guard. Worm wants to stand but Fredricks is controlling his posture from full guard. Fredricks working a defensive guard but Worm manages to pass into side control anyway.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fredricks wants to control but Worm postures up. Fredricks is letting Worm control him for a moment. John Fredricks has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fredricks is trying to escape and get back to his feet. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Fredricks is being controlled here.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Loud Worm hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Worm gets the takedown into side control. Worm thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Fredricks struggling a bit here. Worm has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Fredricks is pushing Worm's head away, looking to escape. Worm manages to hold on to the position though. Worm takes a little break here. Fredricks wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Fredricks wants to get back to his feet but Worm drags him back down. Worm working the head with strikes. Worm is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Fredricks can't do much from the bottom here. Worm wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Fredricks, who protects the arm well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Worm tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. Fredricks is looking to reverse the position. Fredricks is letting Worm control him for a moment. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Worm is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Fredricks knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Loud Worm is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Fredricks throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land.
And that's the end of the fight! Loud Worm comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Worm winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Vitalik Manjos seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Manjos closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Manjos lands in his opponent's guard. Manjos wants to stand and escape but instead Truvaro has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Truvaro wants to pass the guard but Manjos is keeping the position. Truvaro is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

This one could be over very soon! Vanglski goes limp - he's gone! Stellings jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
