We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Henderson has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Henderson has his foot on Pilkington's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Handly fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Worthy sprawls well initially but Handly persists and gets the takedown into half guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Handly tries to pass the half guard into mount. Worthy knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Worthy is controlling Handly's trapped leg to prevent Handly from advancing to side control. Handly is looking for a kimura here.
Worthy wants to control but Handly is keeping busy and won't allow it. Handly thows a huge punch but Worthy dodges it nicely.

Prefect feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Prefect wants to pass the guard but Garcia is keeping the position. Prefect stands and throws Garcia's legs to the side, diving into side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Prefect wants to control but Garcia is keeping him busy. Prefect goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Garcia has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Prefect but great work by Garcia. Prefect tries to bench press Garcia off him but Garcia keeps the position. Garcia working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.

Prefect manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Garcia wants to control from the top but Prefect keeps moving. Garcia is working Prefect over from the guard.
