0 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Ronald Reigns! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Trevor Gratis and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Reigns swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Taleb counters with a left and a right that stings Reigns. Taleb defending well as Reigns loads up on a big left hand. Reigns misses with a few strikes there.
Taleb tries to score a power double leg takedown but Reigns sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Taleb somewhat. Reigns takes a swing at Taleb's ribcage but misses. Taleb pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Taleb fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Reigns fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Taleb. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tyler Taleb. That's going to take a lot out of him. Taleb shoots in but Reigns avoids the takedown attempt easily. Taleb feints a jab promting Reigns to slip. Taleb then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Reigns slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Reigns has worked on his takedown defense in the runup to this fight and it is paying off so far. Ronald Reigns is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Taleb looks for a takedown but Reigns sprawls well. Taleb dives in for a single leg takedown but Reigns sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Taleb is breathing heavily. Reigns is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Taleb misses with a knee strike.

Reigns throws a right and a left that Taleb avoids nicely. Reigns tries to bum rush Taleb with a series of wild strikes but Taleb uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Reigns misses with a left hand and Taleb holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Taleb is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Reigns is defending well for now. Reigns's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Taleb tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Reigns manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Taleb fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Reigns avoids it really well and circles away. A combination from Reigns does no damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Tyler Taleb will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Reigns thows a body shot but no joy. Taleb tries to clinch up but Reigns circles away and keeps his distance. Reigns throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Reigns wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Reigns throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Taleb. Taleb fails to land the takedown. Taleb throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Reigns wants it to stay on the feet. Reigns lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Taleb circles away quickly and effectively. Taleb closes the distance and clinches. Reigns breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Reigns clobbers Taleb with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Taleb throws the kick towards the body but Reigns avoids it. Reigns stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Reigns wants it to stay on the feet. Reigns throws a series of punches but Taleb avoids them all with ease. A right-left combo lands from Reigns. Taleb tries to clinch there but Reigns circles away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Taleb throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Taleb shoots in for a double leg but Reigns sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Reigns throws a good cross that connects.
Reigns throws a combination that misses and Taleb counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Taleb shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Reigns as he jumps to the side. Reigns misses with a two punch combination.
Reigns throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Taleb sees it coming and avoids it easily. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Taleb tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Reigns defends well and Taleb ends up having to push Reigns into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Reigns breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Thordarsen looking to score a takedown here. Staller is defending well but Thordarsen drives through and ends up in Staller's guard. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Thordarsen stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Staller swivels though and keeps the full guard. Staller is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Staller takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Staller trying to control from half guard but Thordarsen is working away. Staller wants to work for an arm triangle but Thordarsen is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Staller maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Thordarsen could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Staller has cracked it and Thordarsen is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Staller!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Heed shoots for a double leg takedown but Game sprawls well. He's pushed Heed's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Game fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Heed on the side of the head. Game thuds his right hand into Heed's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Game throws a lazy right hand but Heed sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Game throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Game shoots in looking for a takedown but Heed manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Game's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Game connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Game fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Heed. Heed fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Game tries a head kick but it misses.
A cross from Game lands. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Game lands with an uppercut that bounces Heed off the cage and back into range. Game lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Heed sprawling to the canvas. Game follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Heed hang on?

Game working away from the top, dropping strikes. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Game is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Heed can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

It looks like Game might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Game throws some wild stikes that Heed manages to avoid easily.

Game has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Game landing shots from mount. Game is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Heed can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Game dives into guard, looking to finish. This has been an exciting period of action! Heed seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mustang tries to bum rush Macgregor with a series of wild strikes but Macgregor uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Macgregor tries to score a power double leg takedown but Mustang sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Macgregor somewhat. Mustang keeps the fight on the outside. Mustang fails to land with a series of punches.
Macgregor fails with the takedown. Macgregor takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Macgregor jabbing away but nothing is landing. Macgregor gets tackled into the cage by Mustang. Mustang maintains the clinch. Macgregor is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Mustang gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. We've been hearing reports that Mustang has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. We've been told by Skantze Jr's head coaches at Synergy Fight Team that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. A punch combination from Skantze Jr misses. Gulliver takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Gulliver clinches up with Skantze Jr and pushes him back against the cage. Gulliver has Skantze Jr pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Gulliver pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Skantze Jr tumbling to the mat - Gulliver dives into Skantze Jr's guard. Gulliver stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Skantze Jr swivels though and keeps the full guard. Gulliver won't allow Skantze Jr to sweep him here. Skantze Jr is looking to cinch up a triangle. Gulliver throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Skantze Jr's body to avoid the submission. Skantze Jr has instead reached around Gulliver's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Skantze Jr arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
