0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ali CPW! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Slava Filatov! The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Igor Prikhodko and Sergei Dronov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! CPW fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Filatov avoids it really well and circles away. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Filatov is defended easily by CPW. Filatov clinches. Both fighters working to control the clinch. CPW jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Filatov walks away with a smile on his face. CPW gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Filatov cracks a nice hook into CPW's ribs. No luck with that takedown attempt from Filatov. CPW with a poor takedown and Filatov decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in CPW's guard. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ali CPW. That's going to take a lot out of him. Filatov landing some decent shots from guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Filatov wants to control from the top but CPW keeps moving. Filatov slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Filatov has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of CPW is proving hard to escape from. Filatov wants to control from the top but CPW keeps moving. Filatov trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. CPW trying to control the position.
Filatov works a leg free and moves into half guard. CPW has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Filatov is working away from the top position though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. CPW is trying to stand back up but Filatov is controlling him
Filatov content to control rather than advance. CPW works his way to full guard. Good work. Filatov slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Filatov wants to control from the top but CPW keeps moving. CPW is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. CPW has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Filatov can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. CPW keeping full guard, as Filatov tries to pass. CPW keeping moving, preventing Filatov from controlling successfully. Filatov is in close to CPW's body, working some short punches and elbows.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. CPW throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Filatov must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. CPW manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Filatov manages to get himself to full guard.
Filatov is controlling CPW's posture. CPW postures up.
CPW won't allow Filatov to sweep him here. CPW looking to sit in guard and control but Filatov gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Filatov postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

CPW shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Filatov as he avoids it easily. CPW shoots and misses and Filatov counters with a nice double leg into side control. CPW won't be happy with that. Filatov wants to control but CPW is keeping him busy. Filatov working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. CPW struggling a bit here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Filatov decides to take the fight back to the feet. CPW fails with the takedown and Filatov moves into the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ali CPW. That's going to take a lot out of him. A battle for position here, against the cage. CPW wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
CPW stalling in the clinch but Filatov improves position. Filatov putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has CPW in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body. Filatov manages to pull guard.
Filatov is trying to control the position but CPW postures up. Filatov has control of CPW's left arm, preventing CPW from doing any damage. CPW controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Filatov passes CPW's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Filatov stands up from half guard. Ali CPW is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Excellent takedown into side control there by Filatov.
That's three minutes gone in the round. CPW wants to control but Filatov postures up. CPW is not content to let Filatov control the position. Filatov decides to stand back up. Filatov steps back and let's CPW get back to his feet. Filatov clinches up with CPW and pushes him back against the cage. CPW tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A nice right hand lands inside from Filatov. Filatov pulls guard effortlessly. Filatov escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. CPW gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Slava Filatov has got the better of the ground game so far. CPW trying to control the position from guard on top but Filatov is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Filatov isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. CPW stacks Filatov on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by CPW! You can see the frustration on Filatov's face as CPW controls the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Slava Filatov showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Filatov decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Filatov wants to pass to mount but CPW is defending the position. Filatov thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed CPW's head. Filatov trying to control the action but CPW is working from the bottom. Filatov tries to stand but can't do so whilst CPW controls his leg. CPW wants to control but Filatov is keeping busy.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. CPW clinches but Filatov breaks the clinch and Filatov counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Filatov. Filatov breaks from the clinch.
CPW tries to clinch up and Filatov decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in CPW's guard. Filatov stands up from guard. Let's bang! Filatov takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

CPW tries for a takedown but Filatov circles away easily and Filatov counters with a nice double leg into guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Filatov wants to control from the top but CPW keeps moving. Filatov sitting in guard here, content to control. Filatov connects with a couple of short punches. CPW looking for a sweep. Not yet CPW, not yet. Filatov passes into half guard. CPW is controlling Filatov's position as best he can from this difficult position.

Filatov is keen to just control but CPW is a slippery customer. CPW is trying to maintain the position but Filatov is very close to passing his half guard. Filatov is looking to advance position but CPW won't allow it. CPW trying to control from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Filatov prevents CPW from standing back up.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. CPW tries a head kick but it misses.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from CPW lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Filatov has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Filatov and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. CPW misses with a takedown attempt and Filatov counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Filatov advances position into side control! Filatov in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Filatov trying to control the action but CPW is working from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Filatov taking a breather here.
And that's the end of the fight! Slava Filatov comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Filatov has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Face drives through and clinches with Mackey against the cage.
Mackey can't find room to land a body shot as Face controls the action.
Mackey being controlled against the cage. Face turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Mackey wants to control but Face postures up. Face wants to control but Mackey is keeping him busy. Mackey is trying to buck Face off. Face controls the position from side control. Face decides to stand back up. Mackey misses with a takedown attempt - Face sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Face works over Mackey's head and body with a nice combination. Mackey chopping away at his opponent's legs.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Face feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Mackey looks gassed! Face wants to control from the top but Mackey keeps moving. Mackey tries to land a sweep but no joy. Face stands up from Mackey's guard - Face perhaps looking for a knockout. Face misses with a few strikes there.

Face lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Face wants the takedown. Mackey is fighting it off but Face persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Mackey's guard against the cage. Face landing some decent shots from guard. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Mackey can do anything to dispel that myth.

Face trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Mackey wants to sweep here but Face controlling him for the moment. Face stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mackey swivels though and keeps the full guard. Face gets to his feet. Mackey looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Good standup being displayed there by Face as he connects with a hook. Face thows a left - swing and a miss! Mackey fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Face sprawls well initially but Mackey persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Face tries to get to full guard but Mackey has control of the leg. Mackey trying to mount his opponent but Face defends it.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Mackey perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Face is refusing to be controlled, as Mackey sits in half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Face tries to kick Mackey off but Mackey keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Mackey pulls Face in close to his closed guard and prevents Face from doing any damage or advancing position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Mackey kicks Face off and gets to his feet. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Klebanov drops his hands momentarily and Taylor takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Taylor scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Klebanov tries to score with a low kick but Taylor moves his leg out of the way. Klebanov fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Taylor sprawls well initially but Klebanov persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Klebanov wants to take a breather but Taylor is having none of it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Taylor is looking to improve his position.

Horrible takedown by Klebanov or perhaps it was just good defense by Taylor which made him look bad. Klebanov seems to have got his legs back now. Taylor closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Klebanov did well to prevent Taylor getting side control. Taylor misses with a head shot. Turilli follows up with more strikes and the ref steps in to end the bout!

Maia thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet! Oleg looks gassed! Oleg tries a head kick but it misses.
Maia lands with a big right hook that stumbles Oleg - he's out on his feet here! Maia follows up with another monster hook that separates Oleg from consciousness! Oleg falls, almost in slow motion to the canvas! Maia stands and admires his work as the crowd go wild.
