Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Joseph Pimentel!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Robert Douchet and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pimentel drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Pride gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

Pimentel really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pride. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Pimentel might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Pride haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

This one could be over very soon! Pimentel goes limp - he's gone! Pride jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!

These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Le Govic fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Le Govic shoots in but no luck this time.
Klien dives in and grabs Le Govic's left leg, looking for a takedown. Le Govic pushes down on Klien's head and hops out.

Le Govic decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Klien is breathing heavily.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Still in half guard, Le Govic seems content to control.
Klien is positioning himself well to prevent Le Govic advancing to mount.

The ref stands the fighters back up. John Le Govic was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Klien changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Le Govic tries to avoid it but Klien manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Le Govic to the ground. Le Govic escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Le Govic feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Klien is trying to control the position but Le Govic postures up.

Le Govic gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Alvero Klien has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Le Govic.

Le Govic using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Klien has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Le Govic is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Klien pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Le Govic breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Le Govic.
Klien shoots and misses
and Le Govic counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Le Govic is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Klien has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Le Govic is working away from the top position though.

Klien tries to roll over but Le Govic keeps him under control.

This one could be over very soon! Le Govic goes limp - he's gone! Klien jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
