As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Diode is looking for a triangle but Malkin pushes his legs off easily.

Diode isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Malkin stacks Diode on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Malkin!

And that's the end of the fight!
Light Diode showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Malkin has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 5 rounds of action, we go to the scorecards for a decision.

In favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Evgeniy Malkin!

Evgeniy Malkin is the new light heavyweight champion!
A very excited looking Evgeniy Malkin made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
