The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Whitecoat lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Bukovsky throws a body punch but Whitecoat moves out of range. Bukovsky turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Bukovsky shoots in looking for a takedown but Whitecoat manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Bukovsky's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Bukovsky tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Bukovsky throws a head kick but Whitecoat moves out of range.
Bukovsky fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Whitecoat manages to avoid it. Bukovsky misses with a right hand and Whitecoat counters with a takedown into side control. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Whitecoat wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bukovsky keeps working. Whitecoat working the ground and pound. An elbow from Whitecoat crashes against the mat.
Bukovsky manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Bukovsky slips a nice elbow through Whitecoat's hands, connecting with Whitecoat's forehead. We've been hearing good reports from Bukovsky's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

You can't force these things though and Whitecoat defends well. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Whitecoat connects with a couple of short punches. Bukovsky working for a triangle but Whitecoat defends it easily.

That was a close second round but I would say that Tommy Bukovsky will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!
Whitecoat cracks Bukovsky with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Whitecoat walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Bukovsky drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Whitecoat swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Bukovsky's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lurendrejer uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Kuan. Lu Kuan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Lurendrejer misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. No luck with that takedown attempt from Lurendrejer. Kuan throws a hook to the side of Lurendrejer's head but Lurendrejer sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. A head kick from Kuan lands but Lurendrejer takes it in his stride.
It looks like Shananigan Lurendrejer has been cut. Lurendrejer shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Lurendrejer is looking to pass Kuan's guard but actually Kuan recovers to full guard. Kuan stuffs the takedown attempt from Lurendrejer. Lurendrejer gets slowly back to his feet. Lurendrejer staying out of range there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kuan slaps away a takedown attempt from Lurendrejer, before circling back to the center of the mat. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Shananigan Lurendrejer. That's going to take a lot out of him. Lurendrejer tries for a takedown but Kuan sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Kuan misses with a jab to the body

Kuan tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Lurendrejer wants to clinch up but Kuan keeps it at a distance. Lurendrejer shoots in but Kuan avoids the takedown attempt easily. Lurendrejer shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kuan but Kuan pushes him off and we're back to square one. Lurendrejer fails with a takedown attempt. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Lurendrejer shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cage lands with a slapping head kick.
It looks like Ben Stien has been cut. Stien stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Cage. Cage lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Cage shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Stien has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Cage gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Cage is looking to score with low kicks. Stien swings for the body but Cage moves out of range.
Cage lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Cage stuffs the takedown. Stien shoots in for a takedown. The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Ben Stien wasn't active enough on the ground. Stien looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A good leg kick by Cage. Stien closes this distance looking for a takedown but Cage circles away. Cage lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Cage lands a front kick. Cage will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Cage walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Cage feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Stiens jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Cage turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Johnny Cage seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Cage walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Stien checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Good leg kick by Cage there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Cage lunges at Stien with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Stien's hand. Cage cracks Stien with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Cage scores with a decent looking hook. Cage misses the jab. Cage's corner calls for a 1-2. Cage obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Cage catches Stien with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Cage connects with a right hand. Stien shakes it off. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Stien takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Stien blocks a low kick nicely. A swing and a miss from Cage. Cage throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Stien scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Cage doesn't seem bothered though. Stien ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Cage throws out a leg kick but Stien moves out of range and Cage only half commits. Cage slaps away a takedown attempt from Stien, before circling back to the center of the mat. Cage looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Cage fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Stien swings for the body but Cage moves out of range.

Cage has his hands on Stien's head, controlling the position. Stien throws a strike but Cage rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Cage moves into range and clinches up with Stien. Stien tries to score a body lock takedown but Cage shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Cage lands a shoulder strike. Cage lands a shoulder strike. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Cage putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Stien in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body. Cage comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. Cage lands with a short punch from the clinch.

I was talking to Atsushi's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Atsushi lands with a left to the head. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Atsushi creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
